Mac House is an absolute must-visit restaurant in Waco. They're locally owned and serve gourmet macaroni and cheese, grilled cheese, salad, and seasonal burgers and sandwiches--all of which are amazing. And they don't go light on the helpings. Every single time I've gone, the mac and cheese fills the cup to the brim. They also serve Pop's Lemonade which is hands down the best lemonade I've ever had.
Bonus for those with dietary restrictions: they offer vegan grilled cheese and gluten free mac and cheese.
Everyone is always so friendly and cheerful, and between that and the food it's guaranteed to brighten your day. I only wish they had more seating--they have a few outdoor tables that are usually available, but fairly hot in the summer (although they do have fans and shade). Highly recommend for outdoor dining or take-out/drive through.
Ordered the OG and Pops lemonade. Personally, I'm not the biggest mac n cheese fan but, my wife is. She did not like it. She felt the cheese was too tart? Maybe to sharp? I thought it was ok and ate most of it. The lemonade is very good. Will probably go again to try other options.
I wasn't expecting it to be outdoor seating - but honestly the food and drinks were SO good that I didn't even mind!! I ordered The Boss Sandwich and the Slim Chicken Mac and Cheese - bother were absolutely delicious! And I tried the Minted Watermelon Lemonade and their Sweet Tea - Loved them both!
This is the best Mac n cheese I have ever eaten! I had the Big Jim and my mom had the Slim Chicken. Both AMAZING!!!! Super fast service and cute outdoor seating. Even has a drive thru!
Blink and you might miss the little house! We tried the Notorious P.I.G., Uncle Rico, and Big Jim. They were all delicious. The macaroni still has a good bite to it, and they were all nice and creamy. Would definitely come back!
I've never had a bad experience here, they're always friendly and their mac n cheese is always absolutely delicious! The tomato basil soup is more like a warm marinara sauce, but still pretty good with the croutons
Love the variety of Mac and cheese. They have a basic Mac and cheese as well as fancier flavors. Prices are good. I also like that they have dairy-free grilled cheese.
This was our third time to eat at Franklin Ave Mac House. Every time we rave about how amazing it is. LOVE that they specify GF allergy vs preference as well. It’s a must have every time we come to Waco!
