Davie's Q is some of the best around, and definitely my favorite in Waco. Hands down. Don't let the "global fusion" description trip you up, it's more or less a subtle nod towards regional flavors. His veritable use of spices and seasonings from different areas shows you how much food knowledge this dude has and how much trial and error he's probably gone through to get his flavors on point.
No matter the theme, my favorite is always that fatty cut brisket. It melts like butter in your mouth. So good! My wife can't get enough of those agave glazed pork ribs. Whether you live in Waco or are passing through, do yourself a favor and hit him up. You won't regret it. This dude is legit.
I finally got the chance to eat David's BBQ and out of all the BBQ I've had in my life, Honk Tonk Kid BBQ is the best. The sauce was amazing, had a great flavor and unique taste that just added to the flavor of the meat. The pulled pork and sausage were fantastic. Definitely going to be visiting him again for some great BBQ.
1st time trying the sandwich 🥪 and the drink was tasty AF made my taste buds dance around. However too much bread for my liking 😆 maybe on a bed of fries next time lol.
Freaking amazing!!! Not your run of the mill barbecue place!! The variety is off the charts!! Definitely on my top 10 lunch spots!! Staff was great and the quantity/ quality of food is phenomenal!
We are visiting from Houston. My daughter is 8 years old but already an expert on bbq. In her humble opinion the brisket here outperforms almost all the famous bbq places in Houston. She really likes it! The owner is so friendly. The special comes with free beer too on Saturday. Would definitely recommend this place to folks who visit Waco.
I would have to say that HTBBQ serves some of the best BBQ in Waco. If I was eating just the BBQ I would give them 5 stars right up there with Guess and DeMaria's; however, there are a few things that bug me. They charge you $0.25 for ice. I just can't wrap my head around having to pay for ice. The menu also changes based on the day of the week and the week, so if you have a favorite you may not get it but a few times. The other issue is leaving smelling like a BBQ pit. Went back to work after lunch and Co-workers had lots of comments about the smell. Great food just be prepared for the quirks.
HTK is my absolute favorite spot for BBQ in Waco. The food is outstanding. His weekly features are always delicious as are all of the staples. The smoked Turkey is like nothing I've ever had and the brisket is as good as any you'll ever find. The side items are also excellent. The mac and cheese rivals what you would order in many fine dining restaurants. Do yourself a favor and don't pass this place by!
The food here is delicious and there are options not available at your typical bbq restaurant. There's a different special every week so I can go back every week and not eat the same thing twice. The service is great, the staff are really friendly!
They have a large selection of bbq options that are all delicious. Today we enjoyed a couple of their new menu options, the Mac Attack and their adult lunchable. Give them a try when you get a bbq inkling.
Awesome BBQ. If your in the area try it out. Got the weekly special "lone star burger" with the brisket. $12 with a drink and a side. Definitely gotta try the Cojita Mac n cheese. I'll be back soon.
