Wow, what a great spot right next to Baylor. All I can say is if I were back in college, I would have lived there.
Staff was friendly and they do a nice cup of coffee. My only complaint is that my cappuccino was quite a bit too hot by about 20 degrees. It took 15 minutes to get it where it should. Other than that - great job. That would never hold me back from returning or referring.
This is one of my favorite hang out spots in Waco, along with the Woodway location. I've been coming here for the last 15 years (which feels so weird to say) and enjoying the atmosphere.
This place has a classic coffee shop vibe with the cushy couches, cafe tables, and good tunes. The coffee is great... my favorite being the No Bull.
This is the perfect spot to read, study, meet a friend, or whatever. There are tourist groups during the day (mostly from the Waco tours buses), but it's a very chill place, especially in the evenings.
Teeny tiny cons: Parking lot is a bit bumpy and tight, but it is what it is. Drive thru is kind of narrow, but I'm glad they have it for when I can't go inside!
We love this place. It’s so relaxing and homey and comfortable. Today I had the dark chocolate hot chocolate and it was amazing. Warm and creamy. You could hang out here for hours and not realize it.
Love this place! The atmosphere is very aesthetic. Good coffee and their special sauce they add to the coffee is good and you can buy it there in a bottle. It's right next to an ice cream shop which I enjoyed, as well. Real homemade ice cream! Across from Baylor University. :)
First visit was in the summer. Common Grounds have good quality coffee. I had a mocha mint latte which was rich and not overly sweet. The place is quite cozy for college students. I bought a bag of Guatemala Las Flores to take home.
Going back the second time last evening in the fall. I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. I had the matcha latte and brought home a pumpkin spice latte. Both were delicious. The best part is that I could still got a glimpse of college life without all the deadlines from school assignments!
Wow, so much vibe going in here. Students studying, dating, and just chilling here. Nice people behind the counter and just inside. Quite a big staff here, I counted 5 persons. Wi-Fi available same as WC, as for coffee, it was branded and on the it's good but not mine type :) a bit sour for my taste. Bought coffee and went to the nearby ice cream shop to sit there as the backyards are quite close.
I really like the look of Common Grounds, both inside and out. It's an old residential building that has been converted into a rustic coffee house and student hangout. I felt a little weird and out of place when I entered, however. Not that the staff was not friendly. They were. But everyone in the place was under 25 except for my wife and I. We are 65 years old. That 40 year age difference can't easily be hidden! But the age thing is my issue because nobody in the place, staff or student, looked sideways at us at all. I ordered a nitro cold brew but was advised that it is not available at this time. So, I settled on a drip brew coffee with cream. I planned on enjoying my coffee with a scoop of ice cream from the shop next door, so drip coffee would serve that purpose just fine. I don't know what blend of coffee I received, but it was very flavorful and smooth. I really liked it! Plus, the temperature was perfect. I've been in some big name coffee shops mid day only to receive drip coffee that was lukewarm and unpleasant. Not here! I really like Common Grounds, both the look of the place and the product. And even though I'm an old geezer, I would not hesitate to go back again for some excellent coffee and friendly service.
Amazing coffee and atmosphere - the employees are very friendly and helpful. I love the laid back, extra cozy feel of the entire place. They also have cute stickers :) Parking in the back is a bit confusing but it works. Try out the ice cream shop next door if you have time too!
