I made reservations online and noted that it was for a birthday. They called the day before to get the name of the birthday person. It was a nice surprise to see all the staff greet us with huge smiles and happy birthday wishes. They even set balloons out on the table and printed a special personalized Happy Birthday message on the menus. The food was delicious!! The prime rib rolls were so tender and flavorful on the inside and light & crispy on the outside. We also had a fillet of succulent duck with candied oranges...yum!! We added lilikoi margaritas to it and called it a party. But still all of that goodness was topped off with lilikoi cream cheese and chocolate decadence pie slices, they were perfect! What made it even better was that all the staff got together and sang a nice upbeat Happy Birthday song to the tune of "Do-Wah-Diddy" while they brought out the dessert. Excellent experience!!

Hannah was very informative and sweet. Last minute lodge booking, and dinner in the restaurant. Food was excellent, room was very clean and social distancing was practiced.

The the lodge was built almost 90 years ago as a YMCA retreat. The structure and the food were worth the visit when exploring the Kīlauea volcano area! Great food and atmosphere. The volcano Pinot wine is a must try, it was very good! We have the fish of the day and was excellent! Also the soup of the day was delicious.

Fantastic calamari steak! Great relaxed authentic atmosphere, with wonderful service. We even got a little Polaroid given to us for our Aniversery.

The Kilauea Lodge was fabulous. I am so glad we picked it over the Volcano House for lunch. The restaurant feels like historic Hawaii. The windows were open and you could here all the birds outside in the tropical backyard. The food was great and service was great. I recommend the lilikoi margarita.

We have had some trouble finding decent food at reasonable prices on the Big Island. Kilauea Restaurant had extremely good food and, while not cheap per se, wasn't much more than some of the super high-priced fast-food we've encountered. HIGHLY recommend!

We had dinner one night and it was fabulous! We had a reservation and were seated right away. Melissa, the hostess was so nice and welcoming. Our waitress, Reri was so attentive! We were served drinks and warm homemade rolls right away. We got the calamari and crab cakes as appetizers, and both were delicious.
