The food here was incredible. Absolutely love the atmosphere and our waitress Madison was the best. It was a busy Saturday night but she made sure she was always checking on us. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious.
A great place for seafood. A well rounded menu hits many of the local delicacies. The Crab Imperial and oysters are great choices. The staff was very professional and well acquainted with the menu and quick to give recommendations. The fresh bread is a great start and the bartender is very skilled in beach drinks. Expect a little wait. But we’ll worth it.
This is one of the most phenomenal places I have ever eaten. The food was brought out quickly, it was presented well. Staff was very attentive. As well I must add! The staff knows sign language!! We had no need for it however during the course of our meal we noticed the hostess/manager signing to a deaf couple. It almost brought me to tears. My Mom is deaf and won’t go anywhere because she believes no one would understand. Next time we come here this place is where we will be. Absolutely worth the trip. BUT please MAKE RESERVATIONS this place hopes
Great restaurant we went to while visiting down in Chincoteague for a weekend getaway. Pics are from the waiting area outside, very pretty. The food was great and staff was helpful.
Solid seafood joint with a lovely view. Get the Seafood Sampler Platter (pic attached). It comes with crab, fish, lobster, shrimp, scallops, oysters and clams (I subbed out the oysters and clams for more shrimp and crabs though). You can order it boiled or friend but boiled is 100% the way to go here.
The French Onion Soup was surprisingly good too! And the bread / butter they serve is fresh and delightful. The coleslaw is a sugar bomb but super delicious. The fries are average.
BBQ bacon shrimp appetizer isn't bad and the crab balls are a little disappointing but not terrible (too much breading).
If you can snag a seat outside it's right on a creak overlooking the marsh and it's beautiful at sunset and into nightfall (pic attached)
It's a limited beer selecton but they have 1-2 locals in bottles. Nothing special about the cocktails but the wine selection isn't bad.
Expect to spend $40 a plate with tip but leave super happy.
The food was good here and the service too. However, when we went they were super busy, which apparently is typically not the case this time of year - early October. It took forever to get a table, but the people were really nice which helped me to be more patient than I typically am. 😁 We'll come back because we go to Chincoteague often, so I would say that this is one of the top 5 sit-down restaurants on the island. I would definitely strongly recommend making reservations.
Despite being sat next to some not-so-pleasant guests, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal at The Village Restaurant. We got the Ahi Tuna to start (encrusted with sesame seeds and flash-blackened and served over a bed of seaweed salad) which was delicious. For our entrees we both ordered the Surf and Turf - the steak was cooked to order (medium rare) but my lobster was overcooked and mushy (my date's was cooked well though; both were fresh). The Crab Imperial was probably my favorite item of the three - it wasn't lump but there weren't any fillers either. I also enjoyed that they served the Surf and Turf with a few onion rings as a nice sort of edible garnish.
The staff were all very friendly and accommodating - even though a few of the guests were rude while waiting for their tables/reservations (and our accompanying table mates, not withstanding). I would definitely return to this place next time I'm in town.
Four stars because of two things. We would not eat until they cleared the absolute mess on the floor and on the table right next to us. The floor debris was never cleaned up. Secondly, the dozen people near us were so drunk, including the cackling woman who would not shut up, that their noise permeated every inch of the large dining room where we were seated. We considered asking these rude and bawdy individuals to keep it down but restaurant management should have stepped in to ask them to lower their voices. Given this restaurant's reputation we hoped and expected them to do something to allow the other diners to enjoy their meals in relative peace. This was a $75 meal for two. We should have been able to hear our own conversation. Unacceptable and a warning to potential patrons. Given this scenario, and the clear possibility of it being repeated since The Village appears to place loud diner behavior on a low priority, we will find another restaurant, perhaps across the street, for our meals. Flies hovering over our table and our meal was delayed too. Staff, however, were very courteous and food, regrettably was good.
