Wow! Discover Captain K in April 2018 and have eaten there five-plus times a month ever since. Love their steamed crabs: cleanest crabs I ever had, very full inside, white meat, seasoned but not too much. Usually, I get sick after eating steamed crabs because of too heavily seasoned or not adequately cleaned. I have yet to get sick after eating Captain K's crab. Have eaten fried whiting fish, sandwich, shrimp, scallops, fried crabs, fries, cole slaw, broiled fish and hushpuppies and would give each a rating of 5. Best hole-in-the-wall I visited. I recommend to family and friends whenever they inquire about a place to eat seafood, especially crabs. Mostly takeout, but the family is friendly and appreciate my business. I respect and call them friends too!
Some of the best fried fish in the area! Ordered the catfish dinner and fried oysters. They both were cooked well. Oysters were not over breaded and fresh. There are a few tables if you want to eat there but most orders are take out. Staff is very friendly.
Great Fried Seafood. Well with a family of 5 it is hard to eat seafood at a reasonable price. With three teenage boys that love fried shrimp this is an excellent place to go. It took about 15 to 20 minutes from Virginia Beach Ocean front but it was well worth it. We walked right in and order and was finished in an hour. It is located in a strip mall and has 6-8 booths. Mostly take out but the family was very nice and appreciated our business. We ate more than we should for less than $42.00 We ate fried shrimp and clam strips. A must go if you have to watch your money. It was clean and in a good area. Not a dive.
Wow!. We saw the reviews and HAD to try this place. It's a little hole in the wall (but clean), but delicious. We ordered a sampler and two meals. Everything was cooked perfectly and was not greasy at all. I highly recommend this place - we will make a point to return!
Suprised. My wife and I stopped by for lunch today and were amazed. Hole in the wall feel with a great product. We had the platter with tilapia fish and chips as well as chicken strips. The platter included a hush-puppy, crab-cake, shrimp, and scallops. The platter was 8.99 and could have easily fed my wife and I. The portions are huge.
note: the food was primarily fried. But I haven't had better fish and chips in the area.
The staffs was very accommodating and well organize. The place was very clean and the food was really good for the price I paid. Would come back again 10/10. Thank you for the great experience!
The food was good they use a batter though but overall everything tasted great the sweet tea was out of the park
Normally I just grab a fried fish dinner, and it always leaves me full. Love their tarter sauce. Loss of a star only because they're so busy and the food is made when ordered, it takes a while. So either order in advance or bring something to read.
I did not mind waiting; my freshly cooked Whiting fillet was worth it! Clean taste, delicious hushpuppy, affordable menu prices and best of all very courteous staff. I would greatly recommend Captain K's Seafood to my family and friends.
The shrimp, tilapia, and whiting is good! The only two things I found funny is that they use Ore-Ida fries and you have to pay 25 cents for an extra cup of cocktail sauce, which was actually delicious. Other than that, they will still get my business. Good seafood spots (other than at the Oceanfront and Norfolk) are hard to come by and this place is a top contender.
Been going to captain K for well over 10 years. For that Asian seafood market taste from New York that I missed. I often get the Fish and shrimp combination And their hush puppies are decent And the shrimp are cooked Butterfly style with minimal batter. Was so surprised to see Tim from Tung Hoi is there as well. If You like New York style Asian seafood market fish sandwich is or seafood. This is the place for you
We love the food here. It's like grandma's kitchen. Fish chicken shrimp and all at a great price. The staff is friendly and the environment is like a small town fish kitchen. 💖
They're very precise.. Food hot a nd ready.. Customer sevice is friendly.. Comfortable to be at and buy your favorite fried seafood.. Hands down this is my top go to seafood restaurant. It hit the spot then some!!!
