From the from desk experience with Betty, to experiencing pure relaxation with Monika at The Flowering Almond Spa to excellent service in Swan Terrace with Tony then the creativity of preparing a speciality vegetarian dish by Chef Josh, it was first class all the way! I would highly recommend staying there if you want to experience excellant service and superior cuisine!

I enjoyed my stay here. It's kind of secluded off the main road, surrounded by lots of trees. The rooms are older and you can hear the other rooms but they are comfortable, clean and nice. The staff is nice and helpful. I liked my stay and thought the price was reasonable.

The property is historically beautiful, and the accommodations were good. I couldn't give a 5 on the room because the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. I couldn't give a 5 on the service because I couldn't figure out how to turn the jacuzzi tub jets on and I was told an engineer would have to come to the room to do it when I was already undressed after a long grueling day. I still soaked, and it was fine. However, the jets would have made it better. There should be a way for a guest to turn them on without assistance. I have never encountered that anywhere I have stayed. Either way, I would definitely return and recommend others to stay.

A Flawless Wedding at The Founders Inn Rating: ★★★★★ As a wedding coordinator, I recently had the privilege of planning a wedding at The Founders Inn in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The experience was exceptional, largely thanks to the outstanding staff, particularly Raquel, Conference Services Manager and Tim, Banquet Captain. Raquel's meticulous attention to detail and warm, reassuring presence made the planning process a breeze. She ensured the couple's vision became a reality. On the big day, Tim, was a true pro. His organizational skills and calm demeanor kept everything running seamlessly. I could relax, knowing he had it all under control. The venue was spotless, the food was exquisite, and the entire experience was top-notch. If you're a wedding coordinator looking for the perfect venue, look no further than The Founders Inn. Raquel, Tim, and the whole team make dreams come true.

Everyone here was so friendly. My husband and I stayed here for two nights after we had an Airbnb fail. We had brought our two dogs with us and all of the staff here was so helpful and accommodating. They watched our dogs while we went to the dining room and gathered to go boxes from the buffet. Lauren in the dining room was especially helpful. She had a kind spirit about her and She held my two dogs so I was able to go to the buffet and gather food. She was so sweet and kind.

Very posh joint, thematically it's based around America's founding fathers so there are lots of ex president paintings, photos etc. There is an on-site spa offering massages and the like. Nice gym with multiple treadmills, weights elliptical machines and more. There is a hotel bar and restraunt food was good service was also good. Desk help has been great as well. I recommend staying here as the grounds are fantastic for walking plenty of trees a small hedge maze and pond with a walking path surrounding it.

We recently celebrated our wedding at the Founders Inn, and it was nothing short of magical! Maria Lindauer, our wedding manager, made the entire process a joy. She helped us select the perfect package for our special day, and when we had to change our wedding date, Maria, along with the Director of Sales Melissa, effortlessly accommodated our request. Christine Hook, the hotel planner, worked wonders, making the planning process seamless for my wife, our wedding coordinator, and me. She left no detail unattended, ensuring clear communication with the entire team. Our guests are still raving about the incredible food. The banquet chef Calvin Williams promised that the flavors from our tasting would be replicated on our wedding day, and indeed, they were! The timing was impeccable, and the staff went above and beyond to make our wedding truly remarkable. Special mention goes to two outstanding employees, Carol Sweeney and Tim Bostic. Tim, in particular, was attentive throughout, ensuring we had everything we needed. His genuine care was evident. During the reception, when my wife and I found ourselves without much of an appetite, Carol surprised us in our room with a beautifully set table featuring all our appetizers, dinner, and a heartfelt congratulations/welcome letter from the General Manager, accompanied by wine and chocolate-covered strawberries. It was a thoughtful gesture that we greatly appreciated, especially after the celebration left us hungry. The team at the Founders Inn truly blessed our family with an unforgettable wedding experience. Thank you!

We had a great time in the Norfolk area with friends. We went to the Botanical Gardens, Bush Gardens, and Colonial Historic Williamsburg. The main reason for this trip was to see Christmas Lights. None of the three venues disappointed. Neither did the Founders Inn and Spa. The decorations are GREAT!

I stayed at this hotel while visiting my daughter at Regent University. The location of this hotel is wonderful, as it is easy to access the college from here. The rooms are nice, clean, and comfortable. The ease of booking was great. The warm welcome was also nice as well.

Great stay and extremely dog friendly! They have 2 huge dog parks on the grounds. The spa is quite nice and the hotel overall is just a lovely and historic place to be. Of note, I heard they give ghost tours in the basement (or they used to). I had no weird vibes while there so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
