My husband and I absolutely love this place. It's always a treat when we can escape to A Bite Of Maine. We always try to get there early because it's a really small place and sometimes the line can get long. While we were eating we noticed the long line moved pretty quickly. They have improved their serving time so that was a pleasant surprise this time around.
This was the first time we tried the poutine and it was wonderful. The gravy was very rich on top of the perfectly cooked fries. And as always the lobster rolls are fantastic. These lobster rolls are buttery and served at room temperature. The fried scallops were better then I remembered. 😋 We will be back again. Hopefully sooner than later.
Nice local feel. Fantastic service! Even the customers were great! Busy but efficient! We tried their Haddock fish and chips special and weren't disappointed! Very tasty, but not fishy, and light flavor! Slaw was a bit warm by the time we got home but after being chilled it was very good. We also tried the chowder and it was great! Not as creamy as expected but flavorful and chock full of ingredients! A quart easily provided 3 bowls of it and for the price you just can't beat it!
The only thing I would wish for is it being closer to us! We'll definitely try them again and absolutely recommend giving them a try! Can't wait to sample some other menu items!
Been wanting to try this place for a while now and I was finally able to come here. I got the Rock Crab Roll and the seafood chowder. I also got to try a New England staple drink called moxie which tasted pretty good kinda like an herby dr pepper. The crab roll was absolutely delicious. It was sweet and buttery and the roll was soft and fluffy and had the perfect denseness. The seafood chowder was good but very runny and was overshadowed by the crab roll. But it was loaded with lobster, haddock and shrimp so I still devoured it. I will definitely come back to try the main attraction the lobster roll as soon as I can!!
Get here. Long line, but it's worth the wait. Connecticut Lobster Roll, Bang Bang Shrimp roll, Haddock. Flavor on flavor on flavor. Sample that chowder as well. Good stuff.
Good food, not great. The lobster roll was tasty, but could have used more seasoning, it seemed to be mayo and lobster only. The clam chowder was watery and also lacked seasoning, we are from the Pacific NW and use to a thicker smooth and hardy clam chowder. We spent $150 dollars here for dinner and left unsatisfied. Not sure we will be back.

Only open Fri, Sat and Sun - but they seem to be doing very well and were steady, quick, and thorough throughout my entire visit.
Really appreciate this place's attention to the customer experience not just with the food. They have a nice decorating scheme and did the place up great for Christmas (including a full sized tree) on top of it without it being too much.
Food is definitely made to order, everything arrived hot (or in the case of the cole slaw and sauces, cold) and very well prepared/cooked.
They also sell fresh seafood in store at a separate "window" by the back of the kitchen with decent prices so you can make something at home if you'd prefer.
Best Lobster Rolls 🦞❣️ Outstanding food and service! I use to order from A Bite Of Maine’s food truck in this location parking. It was always extremely busy even though they only had a food truck and no building. Later A Bite Maine moved into a building in the same parking lot that the food truck prepared many delicious lobster rolls. Located in Shore Drive minutes from Chicks Beach and Virginia Beach Oceanfront.🏖️ Extremely busy but worth the wait. Check A Bite Of Maine website for operating hours. The cashier provided good service and detailed descriptions of the food. I had the Maine Seafood Roll and the Connecticut Roll, both of which were delicious. A bit pricey, but worth it.
When I say I love this place, I LOVE THIS PLACE .. quality seafood, great portions, there is always a special, charming atmosphere, great and friendly staff. They know my name y’all. Please go check them out the best lobster, crab, and shrimp rolls I have had in my life. If you don’t live in va beach TRUST ME the ride is soooo worth it and you will be there every weekend. I recommend everything on the menu. I have never gotten anything I have regretted. You will be happy with all your choices. I promise.
Absolutely loved this place! Fried chicken burger and lobster roll (mayo base) were both delicious! They were also giving out chowder samples, it was really good as well. They do get busy, and for a good reason. We Can’t wait to come back!
