I went to Coastal Grill to celebrate a special occasion. The salmon was delicious, definitely recommend. The lamb was good. The scallops were to die for, 10 out of 10 keeps you coming again. The side corn was delicious as well.
On the other hand, the shrimp and grits were not up to par. The added fresh tomato and pitted olives were questionable. Was not a fan of the potatoes either.
The ambiance and service are beyond exceptional.

We had the most amazing meal and incredible service by Montana. She was fabulous. We had a party of 10 and the majority of us had the soft-shell crabs which were the best we’ve ever had and 2 others had steak and one had the seafood pasta. All to die for. Thank you for a memorable night!

We celebrated my husband's birthday at Coastal Grill last night. I asked for an intimate area. The area wasn't private but it was quite and romantic. Our waitress Montana was great. The food was delicious. If we're ever in the area again, we will re-visit. My husband is a big eater so he elected the fried flounder. The portion size was larger than my crab cakes. The orange martinis had the perfect amount of alcohol.

This is a nice spot! Complementary valet, nice decor and lighting, and everyone is dressed well. The food is solid, especially for price! It was a busy time when I went, so it was quite crowded inside, but overall a great experience, friendly staff, and would come back!

My wife and I couldn’t have picked. better place to dine for our Anniversary! Adam served us and was wonderful. He asked if we wanted to dine at a normal speed or slower. His recommendations we spot on. The food was incredible; so much flavor! Highly recommend the Salmon and Halibut.
Finally, their service went above and beyond any other restaurant we have ever visited. As we walked out from dinner, our valet had already brought our car around and the doors were open ready for them to assist us! Amazing! Ritz Carlton-level.

Coastal is a favorite of my in-laws who love to come here for their anniversary every year.
I've been a few times and find the service and ambiance to be stellar. It's like fine dining.
They have a beautiful bar area and a small patio - which is outside in the parking lot so not my fav - but the inside dining is very classy and nice.
Service is always wonderful and they're able to intelligently speak to the menu and answer questions or make recommendations when asked.
The menu is mostly traditional dishes with steak, fish, and chicken entrees and some nice salads and decadent desserts.
Come hungry! It's an experience.

The ambience is great, the servers are friendly and helpful, and the food is amazing! I had the salmon and tried the soft shell crabs from my aunt. Both amazing!! Sadly, it took over 1.5 hours to get our food, and we had little kids with us, which are not known for being patient. I understand nowadays is hard to get employees, but probably a warning that the kitchen was slow would have helped. Regardless, the place is fantastic and we’ll certainly come back, but likely without the kids.

The food here was very good. I had 3 different types of shrimp but I did thank the shrimp could have been cleaned a little better in the shrimp cocktail. The fried shrimp with the chili aioli was the best out of the three and I had shrimp and grits and the cocktail shrimp as well. The service was good but it did seem like our server was getting frustrated but I dont know what for. I would go back for the fried shrimp.

This is a very nice place to take your significant other, atmosphere is elegant, cozy, and romantic. Food is awesome, I've been here like 4 times and every time I have been amazed by every entree, great wine selections, and great cocktails. Don't forget to order dessert, and lick the spoon

Gem? I think so. Food was very good. Atmosphere was very nice. Quaint location. We went to celebrate our anniversary and it was super nice. I think it was a little too loud, but still a location to come back to many more times!!

I attended this upscale restaurant with a party of 12... the seating was extremely tight causing a beverage spill when trying to move plates around. A few were not impressed with their food (crab or crab legs... not sure), but my food was good. At about $30-40/plate, it was a bit expensive, but overall, it was decent. The venue is better suited for smaller parties.

First time experience was amazing. Service was incredible. Spencer went above and beyond in every way to make sure we were taken care of. The food was incredible and presentation was amazing. Highly recommend this if you are in the area and want to treat yourself to an amazing experience. Thanks Costal Grill and we will be back for sure.

It was good but not great: My expectations were met, but not exceeded. I felt a little noisy. I wanted a healthy meal, yet my salmon was too buttery, and sugar added to the squash . It was my wife's birthday 🎂 and she liked the shrimp dish.

The food had no flavor! I tried the rainbow trout and Caesar salad. The trout came with squash and potatoes. There was absolutely no flavor on each dish. The place is quite beautiful but I feel like I wasted my money. Also, this place does not have a diverse crowd. Which never bothered me, but you can clearly see that some people were uncomfortable when I walked through the door. I will mark this one off the list of places to dine.

This is without a doubt the best place to go for excellently prepared food and also the best people to take care of you and your dinner needs. I hate to call then servers because they don't serve you they accommodate your dinner needs. Everyone there is awesome from the owner Jerry to the head of the kitchen Mo. I have been there at least 10 times and I think each of the girls has equally as kind a personality as the other. There's no place like it in Virginia Beach. Love it.....

Food was top notch. I had the Bibb salad and Dixie shrimp. Never enjoyed a salad or shrimp as much as I did there. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the specials. Only two concerns: we waited unusually long between courses and drink refills. We were not in a hurry so we weren’t upset, but it was noticeable. The other concern was not knowing the prices up front of the specials. I also thought some of the alcohol was a bit overpriced. But, I’d definitely go back. Food was sublime.

Excellent service! Great attention to detail at all times. Our server Kelsey was amazing! Catered to our every need! We were craving great food and service and they delivered on both. My wife had the puppy drum and it was so good, tender and seasoned perfectly. I had the soft shell feature and loved it! My wife and I love acorn squash so the seasonal side was wonderful! Very close to home made like mine! The goose fizz drink and peach sangria were also very well crafted cocktails! Not to mention the home made mozzarella app that was very substantial! It could be a meal for one we thought as the mozzarella was so dense and Delicious. Everything was just right, Down to the dessert and coffee. I seem to not be able to say enough. Convinced?

Coastal Grill. Another highly impressive, award winning seafood restaurant along the Great Neck corridor in Virginia Beach. Hatteras Chowder, oysters off the Eastern Shore (of which they gave me 6 extra), swordfish and creme brûlée to finish.
Attention to detail and service have made this place a staple on the Virginia Beach culinary scene since the 1989 when it opened its doors.

This was our first time going to Coastal Grill. It will not be the last time. The service is, best we have ever had. Let me tell you about the food. Every thing is fresh, & cooked to perfection. Never had rock fish before, it is to die for, as was the lamb, & the salad etc.

Without a doubt the BEST meal we've had in Virginia Beach! Every morsel was perfectly prepared, served hot, and great quantity. I had the bibb lettuce with bacon and warm vinaigrette dressing, and rock fish entree with acorn squash and potatoes.....EXCELLENT! My hubby had the cioppino which is a seafood broth with shrimp, scallops, oysters, and claims in an amazing sauce with toasted bread points... simply DEVINE! We ended our evening with outstanding espresso and cappuccino with the chocolate Brule!
Our server Rebecca was delightful! She was knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely attentive. We will be regulars!!
