Funky Java

I’ve been wanting to visit for a while now and today I finally got a chance…and I was not disappointed! I only wish I had come in sooner. The atmosphere is so relaxed and welcoming, and those inside were enjoying themselves and many seemed to know one another. The man who helped us greeted us warmly and thanked us for supporting small businesses before recommending the “square almond thingy” from next door’s bakery. I definitely appreciated a recommendation (that is a fabulous choice to go with your coffee from Funky Java! If you’re an iced/cold drink fan, I recommend the iced latte with almond milk, but I can guarantee any milk type will also make you happy. I can’t wait to make my visits a common ritual. Don’t miss out like I did for too long!!

Best coffee shop that I’ve been to here after coming to Chicago area the last 2 years. This place is great! The coffee is fair trade ORGANIC. Couldn’t believe it. And tastes super good, and I’ve been trying all the different coffee places ever since my visits started to Chicago.The best hands down. And that is the basic coffee. Could only imagine what the fu-fu drinks taste like! And the owner, Larry, makes you feel like you have known him for a hundred years. That is so rare these days. I can’t say enough about him, his coffee, or his shop. I signed my name In arabic on his statue(it’s a thing - signing, not the arabic part) He has music acts too. Just everything here is, well…so cool. You go, Larry !

The coffee was great! So good, in fact, I was going to go a second time before leaving the state, but when we stopped by the second time, the Open sign was on, but there was a note on the door that read "Back in a few minutes." 20 minutes later, and still nobody was there...very disappointed. But I recommend stopping anyway.

The vibe was on point as soon as I walked in. Locals chatting it up, free smells, and local artwork everywhere you look. Funky Java not only serves great coffee, but they also constantly support and encourage members of their community. It is a great space to relax, study, or get together with a group of friends. The owner and barista is always giving his customers the best experience, it is impossible to not smile in this establishment. Thank you Funky Java for making the small town of Villa Park a happier place.
