This store is considered an "Upscale grocery store chain"...(it says on their website),and yes... partially it is truth. It has a good variety of produces, some items are available just at this store, and cannot be find anywhere else. It has a good music... everything is really fresh (and so on).
But...everything what has to do to customers service, it is really bad. Yes, a lot of employees are nice and friendly (probably because that is who they are, and not because it is part of companies standards), but, it is clear for me that management does not teach the stuff.
I can't understand why is it the issue at "upscale grocery store" to make a package of sliced ham specifically for you. I asked one day to cut it for me, and guy asked:"why can you not just take that one what I already cut one hour ago?"
Another issue...if you buying a big package of water, nobody (even if your cashier is guy 20-25 years old) really want to help you to put it on your cart for you. Oddly enough, at Trader joe's (what is not considered an upscale store) all employees do it without asking. I don't want to blame the guy who served me at check out today. I understand if that your first job (or something like that)l, and management does not give you any instructions of what you should do, you can feel confused
I usually try to shop at Whole Foods but thought this might be a good alternative since Whole Foods can be a very chaotic and stressful shopping experience. Yes - this place is awesome! It’s basically Whole Foods with way fewer people and more speciality items. The experience in here is beyond pleasant - it’s luxurious. Seriously. Who knew walking around a grocery store could be… fun?! They have a ton of prepared foods too, which I appreciate. Give it a try, you won’t regret it!
First time user of home delivery. I am impressed with the text communications and fast delivery. The delivery lady was very pleasant and come to the door at the promised time. I will definitely use this service and highly recommend others to give it a try.
This place is AMAZING! It's like Whole Foods without the insane crowds and a nice selection of specialty gourmet foodstuff that I used to have to pay an arm and a leg to get them shipped to me!
I could barely contain my excitement and actually told the friendly cashier that I'd camp out there if I could! 🤦🏻♀️ As unglamorous as it sounds, grocery shopping is one of my favorite hobbies!
The Fresh Market has great food and an upscale grocery selection.
I have enjoyed the one in Vienna VA, Rockville MD, Annapolis MD and Rehobeth DE.
The staff is always friendly and helpful and every experience has been excellent.
I highly recommend the stores individually and collectively.
Fantastic little grocery store right across the Vienna Giant shopping center. A wide selection of rare finds and gourmet foods. Service is usually good but generally understaffed compared to bigger grocery stores in the area. Prices can be expensive but many of the interesting and artisan products are well worth the price. Highly recommend for an occasional shopping splurge
Wonderful shopping and experience and service today when I came in to make a custome cheese and wine gift basket. Big shout out to Remon who was super helpful, friendly and made the experience 100 times better! Thank you!
They were sold out of diced red onions but upon asking some were made on along with sour cream doughnuts. Staff is so friendly and helpful definitely will return!
Very clean grocery store, competitive prices, they got everything, and they provide excellent service!
A gentleman by the name of George, was extremely helpful and professional. Because of him, and the rest of the staff, we will be coming back on regular basis, eventhough it's out of our way.
The seafood man went out of his way to make sure I have ice for my fish since I wasn't going home right away.

If you like Wegman's or Sprouts, you'll like Fresh Market.
PROS: no app needed to get sale prices. Upper-tier groceries means less people shop here (more elbow room). The weekly meal deals are truly deals that will feed a family of 4 without sacrificing ingredient quality. On Thursdays you can get $5 deals: pizza, a rotisserie chicken or sushi. The spicy shrimp sushi is good, and you can't beat 8 pieces for 5 bucks! Even the over-roasted chickens are tasty and great for making chicken salad or simply sliced for sandwiches. In addition to ready-to-eat food, there's ready-to-cook food. Be aware that items in the store might not match the description on the website. Meatloaf, for example, is supposed to be a beef-pork blend but the one we bought was all-beef (it was labeled "no pork") and seemed to be missing any breadcrumbs. A shame for fresh eating, but it worked really well for meatloaf sandwiches the next day. Heavy on the worcestershire so no ketchup needed.
CONS: prices are high, same as Wegman's and Sprouts. You need to sign up for their newsletter for daily deals. It's a different way to shop, but worth it if you don't mind being on-the-fly with your shopping schedule.
