Red Galanga Vienna

By far one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Vienna. Went on a Tuesday night, and they were fairly busy (reservation recommended). They had given out samples of pasta for the Church Street Stroll, which is what prompted us to visit (marketing works!). Everything here was enjoyable. Our table ordered fettuccini, rockfish, duck ravioli, squid, two orders of kids pasta, and the lobster and crab salad. The fettuccini was prepared table side, and included a 50lb wheel of cheese, and a blowtorch, so someone at the table definitely has to order that. It was good, my wife thought it was too rich, but not me. The duck ravioli was something magical. Tasted fresh, good flavors, and I’d definitely order it again, and again. Really unlike anything I’ve had before. Lobster and crab salad was also very good, and worth trying at least once as an appetizer. The kids pasta wasn’t a hit this time around, so we brought it home, and it was eaten pretty quickly by me. Tiramisu was texturally very different, but the flavors were all there, and I highly recommend it. Bread pudding was also unexpected, and wasn’t too heavy. Got a cappuccino, and it was prepared perfectly. Like I said, one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Vienna. Wait staff was very attentive, and friendly. Excited to try the French Bistro down the street.

The staff was friendly, food was wonderful, and the overall experience was a delight. Everyone there was attentive and kind, and they recommended a great wine that fit what we were looking for. We both enjoyed our dishes, starting with the bread (oh so tasty)! The octopus appetizer was the perfect amount. The gnocchi was hearty, warm, and went perfectly with the red wine we were drinking! My husband got the veal, and we were both pleased that it wasn't breaded and fried like veal is a lot of the time. It was cooked to perfection! We were very happy with our experience here, and I'm recommending it to all my friends and family (mainly so I also have another excuse to come back and try dessert 😊).
