Atami Japanese Grill

I visited for the first time on a Saturday night. We were seated immediately. Love the ambience of the place. I felt confident about the service and food we were going to have and I was right -- Started with a California roll of sushi. Fantastic! For my main course, Hibachi steak and rice with a side salad and clear soup. I was so surprised at how much food came with the entree. An absurd amount of steak and rice. I was hungry and could only eat half. (they have boxes to take away your leftovers) It was so good! Our waiter was fantastic. The environment was wonderful for quiet conversation. Atami Japanese Grill is a treasure to Vicksburg and I will eat there again every chance I get!

I have no idea how this place wasnt packed when I went! Some of the best sushi I've ever had and the menu had price options from low to a little higher. I splurged on something more expensive and it was very much worth it. Large portion and absolutely delicious. Plus, the staff were very nice. Pic is after I ate a few bites, couldn't resist.

Good place for sushi in Vicksburg MS. Love dining in because of good customer service. Recommend changing out the color lights above the tables. Colored lights can sometimes put people in a bad mood, hurt their eyes when they strain to read the menus. And put their company in a different light, sometimes not a good thing.

Not impressed. My fiancé has ate here plenty of times & told me how good the food is. So he decided to order to go for us. We spent $70 & when I got back home with the order the 3 octopus appetizer he ordered was not in any of the bags. So we called and they were confused which I can understand. So I drove back to Atami which takes me 15-20 minutes. The two ladies up front were nice they explained to me how when something is ready they mark it off the ticket & they had explained to me they had seen it get put in the bag. I explained to them at least 3 times what we had received and we did not get the octopus orders. Then they said will put you in a new order which they did not make me pay for & that the sushi chef or the staff may have eaten it. This was my first visit & I will not be back and my fiancé will possibly not be back either. My steak hibachi & Clear Soup were very good. Update my fiancé said the food isn't as good as it used to be & he won't be back.
