Cracker Barrel

It was a madhouse during our Saturday lunchtime visit. We only waited for about 10 minutes, but enjoyed browsing the shop in the cool air on a nearly 100 degree day. Did we love the food? The pancakes were excellent and the eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly for my daughter's breakfast. Her meal was by far better than mine or my friend's. I had chicken tenders and he had the pork chop meal. We both agreed that neither tasted fresh, and made us think of high school cafeteria previously frozen meat. Same with the fries. Next time we will all opt for the breakfast. We did love the blackberry jam and biscuits, though!

Okay so #1. We had the best server ever. I’ve had him once before and he never fails to put a smile on my face as well as whoever I bring with me. Karl is like awesome! Definitely attentive to our needs and very engaging in conversation. Biscuits were bussin and the food was so good! He also kept our drinks filled always. I had the maple bacon chicken w mac ‘n’ cheese and mash potatoes. Delicious! Great service 100%! I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

I am so sad I went to this Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. We were from out of state and wanted to eat someplace that we felt comfortable eating the food. We have eaten at several Cracker Barrels with good service and food. We arrived at the clean store around 2:30 P.M. The place was busy, so we were told a 30-minute wait. The employees were friendly as we made our table request. The server was on the spot with drinks as when sat down. She took our order and then THE WAIT. The server would come back and apologize for the wait and fill glasses. I am not joking when I say it took at least 45 minutes to an hour to get our food. I was thinking they ran out of food and had to go to the store. Usually, I would have walked out without service, but I had two children ready to eat. They were not happy with the long wait. I asked for some biscuits and honey to help them with the delay. The server brought the bread and honey out with one of five meals. She continued to bring the meals out one or two at a time until we received all of the meals. Several of the meals were missing items. The food was temperature hot, so it had not sat around waiting for delivery. I wondered why no one else was helping her bring the food out at once since the restaurant was not so busy now. We ate and left the dishes on the table since no one came out to clean them. I noticed that several tables had dishes on them well after the customers left. The lack of clearing tables may have been what caused our 30-minute wait! I talked to one of the managers, who was able to assist me with my inconveniences. I was embarrassed by taking my family there. They know I like good food and they were ready for a good meal. I let them down at this place. Needless to say that you should not go here unless you want to waste part of a day in your life waiting to be seated and then another part getting your food.

I have never had such poor service! Four of us went at a time that was not busy. No one was seated anywhere near us. Our drink orders were taken pretty quickly. Shortly, the waitress took our food orders and then told us that she would bring us biscuits and jelly. I noticed the tables around us started filling up and she was taking their orders. I then noticed others getting their biscuits while we were still waiting. One table (who arrived after us) even got their food. I told my folks that I didn't think she put our order in. Finally, a manager brought biscuits - still no jelly. We stopped her 4 times and asked for jelly. More than an hour later we got our food. My granddaughter asked for sauce and ketchup again(which was requested when we ordered). One order was wrong. When they brought the correct food, we asked again for sauce and ketchup. My granddaughter finally gave up and started to eat. Her chicken was so hard she couldn't eat it so she just ate her fries. Waitress finally brought jelly. Really? I asked for a to go box and the ticket. Finally, my daughter went and got me a box. When she brought the ticket, I told her how I felt. She said that she was new and they gave her too many tables. The manager spoke to the table next to us and told them that their order got lost. The table across from us was still waiting when we left. (Several hungry little children) HIGHLY disappointed!!

Very nice server. Way too overwhelmed so I can't fault her for performance. Food was expensive for the portion size. My wife I and used to look forward to visiting Cracker Barrel in North Carolina. Well, we're definitely NOT in North Carolina, and this place does not live up to cracker barrel standards. A helpful tip for you travelers; there are 3 or 4 Waffle Houses in the area. The food is only slightly above the grade I'm giving cracker barrel- but they are incredibly fast and far less expensive. Fair well and safe journey to you all!
