Jake’s Tex Mex

Great experience! Good food. Nice, varied menu. Fun atmosphere. We had fajitas and burritos. Like a previous reviewer I prefer rice and beans on the side and not in the burrito.... But that won't keep ME from coming back!!) Chips and salsa were really good (unlike that lone Mexican restaurant in town). Our server Kyle, was a hoot and made our experience a really fun one (plus he was just good!)!

Normally Jake's is closed on Sunday, but Cinco De Mayo was a reason to open and party. From 4 to 7 there was live music and the place was so packed you couldn't hear it as the noise level was very high. However, the guests were having a good time, dancing and drinking. The menu was limited for the night to make it easier for the staff. I ordered more than I knew I would eat. Chili, jalapeno poppers, salsa and chips, roasted corn and flan. The flan was very good and the rest was okay but not my thing, except the corn, which was, though a little under cooked, the highlight of the night. My waiter was good at his job and busy. So to be fair to Jake's, I was told to come back on a regular night and try the brisket menu. I will return.

I'm seeing a lot of people disappointed in the "Tex-Mex" label that is put on this place and I have to agree. This is NOT a traditional Tex-Mex restaurant by any means BUT it is a specialty taco place and a "highly Americanized high end Tex-mex inspired restaurant." And with that they do extremely well. I tried almost all of their individual to-order tacos and enjoyed each one. The quality of the food is quite high and the taste is great as well. The service was amazing and in more than one occasion my waiter went above and beyond to make up for typical mistakes that happen all the time in kitchens. I do recommend this restaurant for those who have time for a long lunch or are in no rush for a lovely but long dinner. Working people beware. I've gone for lunch twice and both times I have waited 30 to 40 minutes on tacos. On my second lunch there were only two other people in the restaurant. I gave them a pass on my first lunch that took over 30 minute wait time because it was a bit crowded but even for specialty tacos, 30 to 40 minutes wait time for two tacos is unbelievable. If you are looking for the quality but affordable prices that are typically associated with Tex-Mex restaurants, you won't find it here. If you are looking for a great dinning experience with high quality but also higher priced food with a Tex-Mex theme, then you will greatly enjoy your time at Jake's Tex-Mex restaurant.

wow! they called this a Mexican restaurant? I've had better Mexican @ taco bell. seriously. the food was warm not hot. the margarita was diluted from sitting to long and tasted like table salt. I usually give all restaurants a second chance not this one. I take my Mexican food seriously. this was NOT Mexican or Tex-Mex whatever Rodger calls it .I thought his Italian restaurant was bad it was 5 star compared to this.
