China Star

I have gone here a lot in the past and I never really had an issue till tonight. The chicken and broccoli lacked flavor, and the fried dumplings were all dough and little filling but what really got me is the crab Rangoon had no filling. I took a picture of three to show proof that there was nothing inside. It looked like there was until you pulled it apart and saw nothing inside. Very disappointed.

"China Star" is a local fav. I moved into the area a few years ago and I've never been disappointed. The owner/staff is wonderful. We get slammed with people up here because of the resort. The parking lot will be full but they are super fast. It's obvious they take pride in the prep work prior to cooking. The rice alone is delicious. And everything is fresh. I was shocked that every shrimp in my fried rice was really clean and cooked beautifully. They don't skimp on portions either. Even on the lunch specials. Everything is always packed properly and hot, when we get home. 🙂

Honestly...... I wouldn't and didn't feed this to my compost pile. Rubbery clumps of impressively dark noodles (Vegetable Lo Mein with a sprinkle of broccoli & a few slivers of onions), excessively oily Egg Drop soup and Dumpling soup (similar to drinking canola oil), over abundance on the bland breading on the (shrimp & chicken). Hey, enough soy sauce was provided to wash it down. I wasn't expecting top notch. I also wasn't expecting food of this quality. I placed our order a few minutes after 3pm. I'll chaulk it up to my mistake of ordering between the lunch/dinner window. All in all the pan fried dumplings were decent. If you're against wasting food that's great but sending out orders that are obviously filled with days old food is unacceptable. The photo provided is straight out of the carton approx 3 minutes after delivery. Lesson learned.

Got hungry late at night and decided to hit this Chinese food spot with almost everything being closed. Was surprised. The food was great, my fried dumplings were tasty and the sauce was adequate. The egg roll was a bit soggy and tender instead of crunchy. Good flavor though. The boneless spare ribs are great tasting and tender, succulent and flavorful. Overall great food for the price point and timing.

Excellent and oh so efficient, it felt like magic. We ordered two quarts of chicken and broccoli (white sauce not soy), curry chicken, and garlic string beans. It came with four white rices. For the amount and high quality of the food, it was very affordable. Everything was delicious and exactly as we expected. Covid protocol is strong and indoor dining appears closed. So we pulled up and called in the order. We sat by the pickup window and it was ready in ten minutes. When I walked up to the window they knew what I ordered and had it ready without me having to say a word. Simply magical experience 😁
