Plaza Mexicana

Plaza Mexicana (Vernal, UT) is a jewel to be protected. The festive atmosphere is inviting. The staff greet you at the door and the friendly service does not stop there. At least three separate severs attended to my requests or provided unsolicited service. I had the tacos pastor combination. The smoky tender beef, sweet pineapple along with queso fresca, make for a tasty experience. There are plenty of drink options for kids as well as adult (domestic and imported or maybe a margarita). Do not hesitate to visit if your just passing through or staying for a few days.

For $20-$30 a plate I expected more than fast food quality and a tiny portion size. I had better tasting food at Del Taco and Taco Cabana. The food comes spread out flat over a large plate making the portions appear larger than it is. I ate some chips and salsa and all of my food. This has never happened to me at a Mexican restaurant. I feel hustled in an odd way. Like when the street magician steals your watch during a magic trick. I feel like this because the staff is warm and friendly but I paid $50 for a $15 Taco Cabana meal

Super authentic! I had the Burrito de la Casa, full of carne asada and homemade guacamole, smothered in high-quality red enchilada sauce, and topped with chopped tomato and cotija cheese. It was big, too. I just can't believe it cost 20 bucks. If this place were more reasonably priced, I would give it 5 stars. Also, the chips could be better.

Always friendly and willing to adjust seating for large groups. Chips and salsa (including cabbage) are awesome and I have yet to have a bad meal here. The ONLY downside is occasionally wait times, do yourself a favor and call ahead! The food is worth it regardless! I will always be a repeat attender for the Plaza Chimichangas, their Mole is to die for!
