Cafe Zack is a Ventura must! This cozy little restaurant is tucked on the edge of Downtown/Midtown.
I’ve taken my wife here twice and both times we’ve been super impressed! The food is really good. We haven’t had anything that I wouldn’t recommend. I highly recommend the steak. They are tender and great quality.
Make sure to try an appetizer as well.
For seating options you have a few. You can sit inside, on the patio, or in the back. Both times we went it was cold (Ventura cold) outside. We sat outside the first time, due to the pandemic, and in the patio the second time. We both said it would have been great to come in the summer and sit outside.

Absolutely the best food EVER!!! And we've been to many high end places.
We enjoyed the steak cooked to PERFECTION! The pasta with a hint of
heat..the caesar salad and the cream corn crab soup. Still thinking about it
this morning!! The service was amazing! We never waited for service or attention. INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE!!

Cozy, quiet Cafe Zack is a great place for intimate lunches or dinners with a little bit of a European feel. The food was definitely above average, all meals served were visually and tastefully attractive. Wait staff and employees and accommodating and friendly. Good place to eat in Ventura.

We absolutely loved our meal at Café Zack! My husband and I came for our anniversary and sat on the beautiful heated patio. The food was delicious and I enjoyed one of the best lamb dishes I've ever tasted! I highly recommend a visit.

We had a wonderful dinner to celebrate the life of my dear Suzy Q. This was her favorite restaurant and we had her favorite wine and pear pie. Excellent place to dine and remember good friends with great food and service. Thanks Hector

It’s not about quantity but about quality and that was my impression in regards to their menu. Cafe Zack is a hidden gem in Ventura, it is a quaint place for lunch or dinner, super friendly and warm staff who gave us the right amount of attention and space for us to dine and converse with one another. I ordered the pasta dish and basically inhaled it (hahahaha) it was so delicious ! I can’t wait to come back and try their wines and dinner menu !

Cannot say enough about the incredible service at this cute Ventura restaurant. Hector and his daughter and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our large and frankly kind of demanding group. I cannot thank them enough for their flexibility and grace. They provide a family feel while still being true professionals.
Cafe Zack is an adorable restaurant nestled in a verdant lot in Ventura. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Mostly Italian dishes with some French flair. Impeccable service.
