The Frog Pond At Canadohta Lake

My brother and I have fond memories of Canadohta Lake; we used to spend time there as kids. We decided to take our Dad and drive to the lake to reminisce and went to the Frog Pond to order some side dishes to compliment our packed sandwiches. The service was quick and friendly and the food really hit the spot.

Our server did the best she could. The kitchen, on the other hand, did not. Our food took about an hour or so. An order of 10 wings came out with 8 (was still charged for 10), a different order of wings tasted like grease not butter and garlic. As the food was finally delivered, we were told that they ran out of the food that we ordered for our kids. (That would of been nice to know before the rest of the food was brought out). Very bad experience! The owner/manager did not even come to our table to explain or try to make things right. They left that to the poor server. I worked in the hospitality business for over 16 years and would be completely embarrassed if I ever worked for this restaurant.

Accused of seating ourselves when we didn't. We were asked to describe what the hostess looked like, and then we were told that nobody that worked there existed under that description. Management yelled at us and said it was our fault that we didn't get menus for 20 minutes. We weren't allowed to walk along the water without paying, even though we weren't swimming. Worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. Management/owner has no business running a restaurant.
