Very small cramped atmosphere. They were out of several things but the fried pickle spears were really good. The gumbo was also good. The side salad was very plain but the homemade ranch was excellent. It is a decent lunch stop and hopefully they will expand soon and get some more staff to help. Our waitress was super friendly just overwhelmed. We would stop again.

Not a place I would have stopped if I hadn't had a friend insisting we go there for lunch. It doesn't look like much from the outside, hell it doesn't look like much from the inside, but hot dog the food is good! Our waitress was very nice and speedy to boot! We got in and out in under 30 minutes. Would definitely go back to try more of the good!

We both had the gumbo and fried catfish today for lunch. WOW, it was so good. The gumbo is meaty and flavorful, and everything in it is just right. The catfish was melt in your mouth, like I haven't had since we stopped in Jackson, MS a few years back and found an out of the way local place to hide out from a big windstorm blowing through the state. The place isn't fancy, but it is comfortable, great tea, good coffee, pleasant staff, nice and clean, good parking. I'd rather have all that Bud Jones Bayou does right than a fancy dining room any day! We'll be back for oyster po boys on Wednesday.

Despite the restaurant being small in size, it is the best place to get authentic Cajun food! For those who grew up in the Louisiana area, it's a good reminder of home. And it is definitely a great place to have lunch.

Really great - made to order seafood with plentiful portions. No lunch pricing available; therefore, expect items on the upper end of moderate. Despite this, the hushpuppies were awesome, catfish battered and fried perfectly, jumbo shrimp phenomenal.
Great food all around. Would definitely visit again for another filling meal!

I just happen to come across this place while exploring Tyler. I got the fried oysters and shrimp lunch. Nearly 20 bucks. A bit too pricey for me to go regularly, but the food was DELICIOUS! Very very small dining area.

Huge Fried Oysters as big as my fist! I got the #2 Shrimp and Oysters with onion rings. I was very surprised when I opened my to-go order, as it was my first time in, and saw the size and freshness of the basket. The onion rings were delicious and could have been a meal in themselves. Will go back!

First time eating at the Bud Jones this evening order the #1 basket small strips of catfish great taste 4 Peace's of butterfly shrimp great taste 2 hush puppies plain taste small bowl of red kidney beans good tatse but not red beans but that just my preference and glass of tea for little over $15 my opinion little pricey.
And there AC was not working right it was 84 degrees while eating dinner when asked about how hot it was I was told it has been a issue for sometime and that the owner just wasn't going to fix it.
I would like to be reasonably comfortable while eating so this alone is a decision that I won't return till I hear they have working AC .
