Love the Atmosphere. We return to Tappi every year while in the Methow Valley on our ski vacation. John Bonica is wonderful host and he hires great staff. The smells are intoxicating as you arrive. The wood fired oven cooks up lovely pizzas and caramelizes the tops of other dishes. The dishes are simple and rustic Italian fare, but done quite well. John loves good wine and keeps great selections available. My only ding would be that, as a person trying to avoid dairy, gluten, and eggs, my choices are pretty limited. I ended up with the rib eye with salad (which was, by and large, delicious, albeit the raw side of medium rare), but I had skied a fair bit that day and I needed an appetizer/starter, but none were available to my limited diet, other than the salads, one of which came with my dinner.
My wife and I stopped for dinner here because we were craving Italian food. We were immediately greeted by the man making the pizzas ( I think he was the owner) he was very nice and accommodating. The waitress was also very nice and personable. We ordered pizzas and they were incredible. 10/10
Fantastic, fulfilling and friendly. Elizabeth of Massachusetts and the boss the descendant of Venetian-Sicilian are great.
One of the best restaurants in Twisp downtown. Our fav go to place when we are there!!
Absolutely delicious! We were in Methow Valley for two weeks and ate at pretty much every restaurant in the area and this was the best by far. The food was very good (the pillow bread and pavlova were especially delicious). The service was also lovely, such nice people!!
Maybe the best Italian food I have ever eaten. The place is clearly lovingly curated and run by those that love and are proud of what they do. The staff is exceedingly friendly. If you need a place to eat in the Methow Valley and this place is open, definitely go here.
06/20/22 - Not sure why people are so crazy about the Pillow Bread. It's different and ok so probably worth the experience, but I probably wouldn't order again.
However, *everything* else was extraordinary. Even the house red wine tasted better than any other "house" red I've ever had.
Couldn't tell you what our meals were named, because of too many words with too many syllables. Wife's beef over polenta & sauce was amazing. My mildly spicy sauce with meat over short rolled pasta [first pasta on menu, something something Pomodori ?] was also excellent.
Staff were very nice, and even the owner provides some server duties.
Will definitely go again next time in Methow Valley.
Highly recommended!!
Great food, nice quaint ambiance, super wait staff.
All hand made pasta! We had the carbonara and another pasta dish I can’t recall the name of, but delicious. We shared starter salad and the pillow bread…I could live off that pillow bread!
Very nice chocolate panna cotta for dessert, perfect size.
Will be back for sure.
Small and cozy restaurant in Twisp with good service, great spot for a romantic date night. Definitely recommend!
I really enjoyed their baby back ribs (super juicy and delicious) and my husband loved his pizza. The vegetable polenta was quite oily but this was also my first time tried polenta so maybe it's supposed to be like that? They also have a small selection of wine with very resonable price (though my waitress served wine in the same type of cup as our water cup, only until we ordered a bottle that wine was served in actual wine glass. I'm personally have no problems with it, it just seemed a little strange :).
