Skip the buffet, order off the menu and you'll find out why this place is golden. If you want the buffet experience, the large Chinese mega-buffets have far more selection. There was an egg foo young on the buffet which had an incredible brown gravy.
Most diners appear to be regulars.
The real beauty of this place is when you've ordered off the menu. The freshness, temperature and flavor surpassed any New York Chinatown style Chinese food I've had in Tulsa. The fresh eggrolls and stir fry pork are excellent stand-outs. If you want this Chinatown style, Golden Palace is an excellent choice.
Been going my whole life. Parents took me here growing up, and at 24 years old I still dig on this place. Buffet only has about 12-16 items but it is all about the traditional Chinese quality here. Hands down the best and juiciest fried chicken you'll find anywhere in Tulsa... I'll put money on that.
Its simple food done right and the service is great. The buffet is small but its more quality than quantity.
Charming but hidden, the Golden Palace restaurant is your classic Chinese Buffet. Locally owned and operated, the restaurant is quaint and cozy.
But really, it can be very difficult to miss if you don’t know where it is.
Excellent garlic chicken! Good food on the buffet. Fast, friendly service. If you liked or loved Ming Palace do yourself a favor and have a meal here.
And in response to some of the reviews...
Does it look like a high class place? No, but I go there for the delicious food not the building facade or fancy trappings. Its the substance not the appearance.
And as far as the unidentifiable pieces of fried chicken.. You are eating the cuisine of a different culture. Traditionally they ate with chopsticks and it would have been rude of a host to serve pieces so large that they could not be handled with those chopsticks.
When I was a small child, my grandparents used to eat here twice per week. Back then it was a husband and wife team with their son who hung around and helped out. Fast forward 20 years, the son is now in charge. The food is still the same amazing family recipes. If you are looking for a big buffet with limitless options, this is NOT for you. Its a small place that has the same buffet items for the last 20 years. The quality is amazing and the flavors are so rich and delicious. Out of all of my travels, I've never found these flavors elsewhere. When we go in, we all recognize one another and make it a special trip anytime I visit Tulsa.
The owner here is very nice! The first time I came there he welcomed me and asked me if it was me first time here. I said yes and he showed me the menu and offered me the Pork Fried Rice. You can tell they take their time cooking because when you get the food, it smells delicious!! The Fried rice had flavor and it was smooth! The egg rolls are also very good. A true hidden gem.
I can not love this restaurant enough! The buffet is small and only offers a few options but the food is always fresh and “home-made” tasting. You won’t find anything like this in Tulsa. You may miss it if you don’t know what you’re looking for. It’s tucked away in an old shopping center in a not so good part of town. The restaurant itself looks like it came from an gangster movie—the ones where the shootout always takes place. Anyways, service is always good. If you go more than once they remember you. I’ve been going there for more than 30yrs and the place is still my favorite.
Buffet didn't look too great, so we ordered off the menu. Food is very good! Prices are reasonable and you get a good amount. No sweet tea, Pepsi products. Very friendly, helpful staff! Will go back.
I've been looking for a good buffet around here and finally found it. The people are nice and the food is full of flavor. The buffet has about 10 dishes to choose from and there is a small salad bar. They also have a food menu if you want something else.
This place is tucked back in the shopping center so it's a little hard to see from the road.
I love this place more than any other. I have never found sweet and sour pork that matches theirs anywhere else. Everyone always has some pink or red sauce. Yuck! This is made in house, from scratch. As far as I know, I am the 4th generation of my family to enjoy this restaurant. It's so good we just keep coming back.
Best buffet ever!!! It's always clean, food is always fresh & the family owned business is very friendly!
Our family absolutely loves this place! It has us spoiled because we don't like any other egg fu young or garlic chicken anywhere else!👍👍👍
Excellent food and service. Four of went out to eat tonight and each had a different choice for what was best. It was all good. It is a small, family owned and operated business that has been there since the 70's. They know how to cook and they know how to take care of their customer's.
