Review Amelia's Wood Fired Cuisine - Tulsa

Beautiful restaurant and absolutely spectacular food. The chefs counter is highly recommended for your first time!

We booked the chef's counter, and it was a fun experience, getting to watch the food be prepared. Everyone in the kitchen was working super hard, and they paid so much attention to each dish. For appetizers, we had the scallop crudo and the empanadas. The scallop crudo came highly recommended from someone who recently ate there. I liked it, but wasn't blown away. The empanadas were excellent, we loved the dip that they come with. We had the fried Brussels sprouts salad, and that was our favorite thing out of everything we tried. It has Brussels sprouts and apples and it's delicious. We shared the tenderloin and it was really good... Came out perfectly cooked. The broccolini was also really good. The fingerling potatoes didn't blow us away. I'm not sure if they're seasoned - you can dip them in the sauce on the plate, but i always think fingerling potatoes have a bit of a funky taste. *side note, I loved the mismatched vintage China. So pretty. The service was good - we used the valet service, which you can pay for on your check, and it beats trying to find parking downtown. The one criticism I had about that is that we weren't able to tip the valet on our check, and we didn't think to bring cash, so we were scrambling to find a way to not stiff the valet. I think if Amelia's doesn't allow us to digitally tip the valet, they should let it be known ahead of time that you'll need cash if you want to tip them. All in all, it was a good experience, and we will try to make it back to try more things. I definitely think splitting an entree and using more appetite to try appetizers and/or salads is the way to go. The roasted carrots looked amazing, the hummus looked good, the shortribs looked good, and the sourdough bread looked good (and we heard it was really good).

Food, drinks and customer service were fantastic! I recommend getting the octopus for appetizer. I hesitate most of the time when it comes to ordering and eating them because there are multiple instances that the octopus that I order before was chewy, but the Amelia’s octopus was not at all and with every bite, it melts in your mouth and it was delicious. The place was very clean and organized.

Perfect date night! Great atmosphere and the flavor of the food was spectacular. The hummus appetizer was amazing as well as the tenderloin dinner and eclairs for dessert, all so so good.

Visually beautiful restaurant with Spanish inspired details. Sitting close to the kitchen is fun research to find out what you want to order. Food is Southern American fused with Spanish and Italian techniques and ingredients. Fried green tomatoes are a pass, the corn soup was delicious, the fish was acceptable although the presentation was not visually appealing (like VeggieTales exploded on my plate). American cuisine has no story or memory only mentors and inspirations.

Twice I have crossed the Pacific Ocean from Australia and came to this restaurant. Great food and staff.

Amazing! Loved the atmosphere but the food was best so far this trip! From the wine to the dessert and everything in between it was outstanding. We sat at the chefs counter, super fun to get a front row seat and our waiter Brett was fabulous! Stop in for a true treat!! Amelia’s is a gem!

Very good food and excellent service. Overpriced as to be expected for a restaurant in that part of downtown. The Tomahawk Ribeye was delicious and tender and plenty big enough for two. Deserts were very good but not outstanding. A good place for a special occasion.

Service and Atmosphere is great, but the food is just okay, especially considering the price point. However, my wife did enjoy the scallops.

The food and service are amazing!! My husband and I were blown away by both our dishes. It's pricey, but worth it.

A great concept with great service, an elevated-cozy ambiance, fantastic empanadas, and enjoyable seasonal entrees. --- My family and I came here on a Saturday night to celebrate a recent life event. I had done my research on some of Tulsa's best restaurants, and this experience and the menu interested me quite a bit (I'm especially gullible to a restaurant that has a pairing for each of their entrees by the glass on the menu). I really enjoyed the ambiance and decor, especially at night. There was an open view of the kitchen and searing of all sorts around the front - chef's table, booths, and high tops, with nice dim lighting around . My party and I were escorted and seated towards the back, in a smaller room surrounded by decor in the theme of Amelia Earhart. Our service was excellent, with an experienced wait staff that were courteous and helpful. We decided to get a couple starters for the table and starter drinks before we each got our own entree. For the entrees - we ordered the sourdough bread and empanadas (4). While a bit disappointed we had to order the bread, it was warm and soft and the orange butter that accompanied it was very flavorful. I had heard the Empanadas were some of the tastiest of the entire menu, and I wholeheartedly agree. The Beef was extremely well seasoned and the accompaniments of potato, squash and cheese were all heard and felt. My 'beet' margarita with mezcal was a great and refreshing companion to the empanada. I was able to try everyone's entree, but I went with the Curry-Spiced Quail. The serving sizes for all the dishes were enormous, but they were all good in their own right. You definitely got the curry flavor in the quail, perhaps more than the quail itself, but I enjoyed it - albeit not my favorite entree. I also really enjoyed the balance of the bird with the risotto and fall flavors on the plate. I had paired the dish with their recommended zinfandel, which was fine but not an elite choice of pairing in my opinion. The other dishes at the table were the Scallops, the Ravioli, and the Salmon. The Scallops were good, especially for a land-locked state. The braised beef overpowered the Ravioli dish in my opinion, but it was all still very well prepared. The Salmon was also cooked well and looked well dressed surrounded by its accompaniments. We did not save room for dessert, although they all looked great. Overall I would certainly recommend this restaurant to those looking for a nicer dinner in Downtown Tulsa, and would be happy to come again.

Pro Tip: for maximum winter dinner coziness; get seats as close to the wood fired grill as possible. It’s warm, romantic and smells unbelievably delicious. Also…get the empanadas appetizer and the filet mignon for dinner. 😋

A relaxing playlist and inviting aroma greets at the door. The warm and savory beet salad was worth the visit but fortunately we also enjoyed the tuna carpaccio (fresh, fresh, fresh and deliciously light), duck confit stuffed squash (savory and amped up multiple steps in flavor from the duck), tenderly seared scallops and richly sauced ravioli. Post meal coffee served piping hot and via french press. The menu (and wine list) is as interesting and sophisticated as any found in any great city of the world and you only need to make reservations right here in Tulsa. Thank you to our server Trip for recommendations and patience. Beautiful experience. ❤️

I had the Sea Bass with Beet Margarita’s - both made perfectly. Seafood was cooked to perfection which is a hard find in Tulsa. The Beet Margarita was fresh and did not have the horrible cheap sour taste like you find with most margaritas. I would get that exact meal again and again and again…. Portion size was also perfect. Quality over quantity but still filling for me. Atmosphere was nice, dark, not too loud but not weirdly quiet. Service was amazing and very much on point. I’d go back simply due to the level of service! No kids menu but they offered (off menu) options that would suffice.

The service here is fantastic, very attentive. The dining area and bar were charming, perfect for a date. I tried a couple of the signature cocktails and regretted not getting the classic versions instead, my app was great, the salmon was good but crispy potatoes on it were overpoweringly salty. I'd recommend it, but order mezcal and maybe ask the server whats best for entrees.

I went on a date here recently with my girlfriend, and she chose the place. Normally I tend to be the restaurant picker so I wasn’t sure what to expect. It had a great ambience and I loved the decorations and general vibe of the restaurant. It felt both like a hole in the wall place and a fancy formal dining restaurant at the same time. I had the pappardelle pasta and it was very good, it had good presentation. My girlfriend had a ravioli pasta and I’d say it wasn’t as good, but it was still a good meal. My main complaint would have to be our service, as the waiter tended to run off at a moments notice over and over, making it hard to place orders. We had to wait on placing drink orders, placing appetizer orders and placing food orders as each time he’d swing by he’d only do one thing before he’d leave. Initially he brought menus said hi and left, came back and took drink orders and then left immediately again, and then brought drinks, only to leave before we could order any food again. Now I likely expect that to be simply bad luck of the draw, and I could see myself re-rating this restaurant a 5 with better service.

My husband and I dined at Amelia's for the first time last night. Our entire experience was fantastic, from the cocktails, appetizers, salads & entrees to the last bite of dessert! The atmosphere is warm and inviting. I loved that each appetizer/bread plate and dinner plate were vintage china, there were many different patterns. The salmon mousse was delicious and the crawfish bisque was amazing and spicy! I had the crispy achiote pork belly that was served with a side of cilantro, creamy avocado and fresh sliced jalapeño, so you could add heat to the dish if desired...it was Aaahhhmmmaazzingg!! My husband had the ravioli and it was cooked perfectly! We finished our meal with the shortbread creme brûlée. David, our server, was really friendly and very knowledgeable about the cocktail menu and the entrée menu as well. Highly recommend this place, another gem in the Brady District!

Located just north of downtown Tulsa in the historic Brady District, Amelia’s serves elevated American fare in a smallish, upscale location. Thursday lunch was busy, not full, but had wait staff hopping. After taking my seat it was a few minutes after being handed a menu before I was asked if I wanted something to drink, which I did, but perhaps off the drink menu, which I was not given when seated. Perusing the lunch menu was a little challenging, but only because it nowhere near matched the online menu from their website that I was looking forward to. Apparently the menu is printed (changed?) daily. In any event I had the Sopa de Masa, a spicy and rich tortilla soup. It was very good. After the soup came a Cuban Sandwich with a huge pile of curly fries (too many?). The fries were excellent, and the Cuban sandwich was more than passable, even with a partially over grilled bun that bordered on burned on the edges. Service was a tad slow, but attentive. Atmosphere was very nice. All in all a very good experience, with a couple of minor slip ups that I am sure are abnormal for the place. If they do change their menu often, it would be a good idea to put that on their menu section and refer to Facebook or somewhere it could easily be found. Will definitely try for dinner at some point.

If you haven’t tried this place, stop everything you’re doing right now and come! By far my new favorite place in Tulsa. We sat at the counter in the kitchen and it was such a fun experience! It’s an Argentinan style grill and wow it’s an experience! From the decorative plates to the amazing food I cannot say enough good things! Amelia and Blaine are the sweetest and she has done it right! You walk in and feel like you’ve entered San Francisco (our favorite city), although some say New York is the vibe. However the consensus is you don’t feel like you’re in Tulsa and you have a phenomenal meal with great service! Amelia and Blaine both stopped by to ask how our meal was and make sure our experience was the best it could be. We will definitely be back!

I had dinner there with friends on Saturday night. The food was decent. Our waiter was dry. Our table next door had a full presentation of the restaurant and its philosophy (which sounded great, since I am a foodie and I love to hear about any restaurant's story). I can't say that the experience was good enough for me to go back. Unfortunately, I am one of those pesky customers who can only have a good experience when the food AND the service is good.

AMAZING food, fun atmosphere and really charming staff. I'm a ridiculously picky eater and every dish I've tried has been flawless. And it's healthy food too. The kale salad and the trout, I could eat twice a week. So happy that we have this gem in Tulsa.

Wonderful dining experience! The smells and the music welcomed us into the space along with the warm staff. We shared several dishes to taste a sprinkling of the menu. The beet salad and trout were among the delicious choices; finally the scratch s'mores dessert was the perfect ending

A wonderful place! They use local foods, even cure thheir own ham! I would highly recommend reservations unless you are ok with sitting at the bar. I had the Porter Peach and ham salad as a starter and the Ruby red trout for my entree. I finished it off with the creme brûlée which was magical.

My first time at Amelia's did not disappoint. I made a reservation based on the recommendation of a friend and was impressed. From the appetizers to the entrées it was a flavor explosion. My colleagues kept saying "Wow!".

Amelia's is far and away the finest dining experience in The Arts District. Their locally sourced menu changes daily and never disappoints.

Everything was amazing! The Hanger Steak with Roasted Root Vegetables was perfect. The Burnt Sweet Potato dessert was a suggestion from Amelia and did not disappoint! So excited Tulsa has a new restaurant with a great atmosphere, awesome staff and cuisine.

We ordered carry out today at lunch. Below is what the menu says about their chicken salad. As I start to take a bite of my sandwich there are really large pieces of hard boiled eggs in the chicken salad. Unfortunately, hard boiled eggs are not something I would normally expect in chicken salad. I simply do not like them. So, lunch was a $12 side of fries. Dijon and Toasted Almond Chicken Salad (Wrapped or Unwrapped) Field Greens, Tomato, Cucumber, Apple Cider Vinaigrette *Wrap it in a Whole Wheat Tortilla with Fries 12

Love the vibe, exceptional service, food and wine list. The Brussel sprout salad itself is worth the trip from OKC.

Was our first visit and we are in love! Menu was fantastic - almost too much to choose from. Service was impeccable. They also have a $20 price fix at lunch for three courses. Can't wait to go back!

Service is great, which Tulsa has come to expect from proprietor Amelia... but the food... wow... I'd truly put this on par with Husk, in Charleston. Each dish stands well on it's own, but the suggested wine pairings are not only perfect, from labels we don't usually see in Tulsa, and incredibly well priced. Hats off to the next great evolution in Tulsa's cuisine scene!
