Best breakfast food I’ve had in a while. Highly recommended. I had the 66 omelet & loved it.
They have Cholula hotshot handy because they know what they are doing here. You are dealing with food pros here.
The waiter was fast & friendly.
There is a highly rated lodge with affordable rates across the street if you need a place to stay.
This was a great spot to have breakfast! We stopped here on our way back home to Ca. It's in a very small town and we watched everyone say hi to each other. We came in and since it was slow enough, they let us choose our table. We decided to sit at the bar so our son could have a true "diner" experience where you have small chats w the servers and watch the cooks in the back. The servers were all nice and attentive. We never had an empty glass and they continually asked if we were good.. They have their wall covered in patrons' art, mostly from kids. Their decor is very diner-ish with different signs and art all over the walls. The building itself was dated but it was clean, including the bathrooms.
We ordered their classic breakfast plates and a kid's plate. All the food were cooked fresh and you can tell they make their own food. My husband loved the sausage and blueberry pancakes. Even the blueberries were fresh vs frozen. My corned beef hash, eggs, and biscuit and gravy were all good. All in all, I would describe it as home cooked food on the road. Things your parents would cook for you. If you're looking for fancy, this isn't it but I'd take this over fancy! We left full and satisfied.
My son ended up making some art to put on their wall and they immediately hung it up for him. That made his day!
Would definitely come back and recommend 👌
We absolutely LOVED this place. Visiting the area and it’s THE perfect place for breakfast. Delicious coffee, excellent service, friendly waitress, and really good food! A hearty portion in the omelette which also comes with hash browns or grits, AND… a pancake, toast or biscuits and gravy. Omelette was yummy. I skipped the hash browns/grits but had the biscuits and gravy and they were also yummy. Nostalgic atmosphere of an old diner which we absolutely LOVE. We’d definitely stop here again if we’re ever passing through the area.
Great diner in a former Denny's. We had breakfast here twice on our Route 66 roadtrip--the food and service were that good. Great choice in Tucumcari. Note: The restaurant doesn't really have a sign--look for the empty sign shaped like a Denny's sign.
A great place to get breakfast before hitting the road. I had the Mexican Scramble (eggs with chorizo and cheese, hash browns, and a tortilla) and it was delicious and the perfect about of food
Service was also great - the waitress was very attentive and seemed to show up with a coffee refill just at the right time
Definitely recommended
Off the beaten path on the old historic Rt.66, you'll find this hidden gem with great, fresh food and friendly wait-staff. The only place in town that doesn't mind you using their restrooms. If all other establishments in town where as awesome as this place then the town would still be thriving.
Thanks for making adjustments to the meal. The burrito was made vegan, the potatoes definitely were not. Extra avocado available for $2. Music a little loud at times. Friendly servers
Wow.. what a great breakfast! Over-easy eggs done to perfection. Blueberry pancakes, hash browns, omelettes.. chewy crisp bacon.
Our server was Desiree, perfect service… lots of activity at our table with children and grandchildren.. she never lost her cool.. kept coffee mugs and water glasses topped off.
Watch for this place on Google Maps… the sign was removed when we went there, but the local folks know the place and recommended it.. high praise indeed! Great experience!
