While Kiss of Smoke clearly lacks remotely impressive snazzy curb appeal, it's made up for by the quality of the food and perhaps some of the best post pandemic customer service in town.
I found the prices to be reasonable considering today's monetary meltdown of economic insanity.
While I found the mild sauce to be unimpressive, almost a bit bland , l found the spicy sauce to be highly flavorful and delish, almost addictive.
Sadly numerous selfish people had already beaten me to the brisket on the day of my visit so it was sold out and l was forced to choke down the last plate of the day of pulled pork. I found the pulled pork to be juicy, well smoked and packed full of flavor. I was truly grateful to have enjoyed such a treat.
Outside of a certain KFC pretend wantabe chicken joint, it's hard to find fried okra. It's even harder to find good fried okra, thankfully Kiss of Smoke solves this dilemma with perhaps some of the best fried okra this side of my mom's kitchen. The okra breading was simply fantastic.
While the food is fantastic and well worth your time to visit for, the true star here is the level of genuine friendly good old fashioned customer service. There is an obvious sense of pride on full display from everyone working here. The dining room was spotlessly clean.
I'd definitely highly recommend a visit here, but come early to avoid the sold out disappointment...
Check it out for yourself! Daily specials and the softest bagels 🥯 I've ever had. Brisket Bagel $8
Fantastic BBQ! I have been looking for a good BBQ spot for a while and I am so glad I stopped into Kiss of Smoke. Their brisket was so tender and delicious. The flavor burst in every bite. The Mac and cheese was creamy and thick. Great experience
Found this gem with my son. They have a great atmosphere and some great bbq. We will definitely be coming back.
Hole in the wall BBQ. I had the sliced chicken breast which nice and moist. Meat is seasoned but the sauce was on the side. Tastes like Sweet Baby Ray's sauce. Sides were good. Prices were good. Nothing was great enough to make me drive back there from Green Valley.
Kiss of Smoke has the best sauce in town! The perfect blend of sweet, heat, and tang. Brisket and pork are melt in your mouth delicious. Fast, friendly service and casual atmosphere. Locals know to go early since they close when sold out.
This is good bbq. Deserving of high ratings. Only criticism is portions could be bigger and price was high for the meal I had. $16 for two meats, two sides and a biscuit. House specialties they said. what you get is good, but for the price and the portion size, four stars.
Food: beef brisket was delicious, cooked to perfection. They have award trophies all along the wall.
Service: took to go, large serving, friendly staff
Atmosphere: laid back homey southern vibes
This place is easily the best BBQ I've had in Tucson. It's small & always busy, but well worth the wait in line. My co-workers & I often order lunch from them & no one is ever disappointed.
Brisket was juicy and smoked good jus a little heavy on the seasoning...Western beans a must have...beef sausage was ok...potato salad was different but overall pretty satisfying..so far out of the 2 bbq joints I've visited thus far I'll take K.O.S... over the other most definitely
