Jerry Bob’s on East Speedway is a nice little neighborhood diner open for breakfast and lunch. This was a favorite for my late parents: nice owner & kind waitstaff, good diner food, reasonable prices. Be sure to check the whiteboard at the entrance for today’s breakfast and lunch specials. One of the servers tells me the soups are homemade; both the split pea and navy bean are amazing. Sometimes I’ll opt for the grilled chicken sandwich with a smaller cup of soup; I order the chicken “blackened” adding swiss and bacon for a tender, juicy, savory treat.

I had a craving for pancakes and eggs this morning, so I stopped at Jerry Bob off of Speedway. We only waited a few minutes to be seated, but the hostess and cashier weren't friendly nor inviting. We got seated in a small table that wasn't wiped down. When the waitress came over, she quickly sat us at a better table. I was disappointed with the taste of the pancakes. The batter tasted old. However, the eggs were cooked to perfection, and our waitress was exceptional!
