Tried The Blind Pig based on a suggestion from a friend and was not disappointed. For me the music was way too loud so we stepped out to the the patio to eat. We ordered the Mac N Cheese Melt and the Carolina BBQ Chicken Sandwich. We were greeted by Brandon and he was cheerful and helpful as he took our order. He delivered our food to us out in the patio pretty quickly. The food was was hot, the seasoned fries were very tasty, and the Carolina Sauce held its own against the mustard based bbq sauces I’ve had in the Southeast U.S. The Mac N Cheese Melt was also tasty, perfectly grilled to a golden brown. Food was priced comparatively well to other restaurants for the serving sizes. I’ll head back to give other menu items a try and see if they stand up to todays meal. I’d recommend give this place a try.
Bare bones interior, but don’t let that fool you. The food is fantastic! A mix of locals and college students make for an interesting atmosphere. Staff is friendly and attentive. The aroma alone is enough to make you a fan. Good selection of beer as well. A little out of the way, but you won’t be disappointed.
I got 1 of each taco, and each are great! The Fish taco I'd have to say was my favorite by far! Nice area to have a drink aswell, right in the heart of the University.. little hard to find but it's in between the 2 building. Park and walk.
Great food. Hubby had popcorn shrimp. Tender, not overcooked and delicious. Friend had Calamari (with great ice cold beer side). He said it was way better than he expected. I had the deep fried chicken sandwich and it was beyond wonderful. Crispy outside, tender inside on a grilled bun. Food came in a reasonable time after ordering. Fresh. Definitely not reheated under heat lamp. Comfy atmosphere. Very clean with friendly staff eager to answer any questions. Parking was free and ample. Handicapped space.
Really nice redecorating job on the old The Fix room. Dim and amber lit with wood all around. Order at the register and they bring your food out. The food was good, but the portions don't match the prices. A $4 side of waffle cut fries ended up with getting like 6 fries-- and they were good! But $4?
Ordered from Doordash, so I can't speak to the restaurant itself.
I got a Pollock sandwich and fries. Living in the southwest, I was prepared for a very underwhelming piece of fish, and begrudgingly paid the $14. What I got was worth every penny.
The Pollock was tender and moist, with a crispy skin. It was nothing like the leathery, chicken finger consistency I've come to expected from other Tucson fish and chips. The slaw had a great mix of acidity and creaminess, and the bun was sturdy enough to stand up to the wet ingredients while still being pillowy and tender, which was impressive.
The fries weren't anything revolutionary, but still had a welcome mix of smoky and sweet spices which paired really well with the fish.
Definitely planning on ordering again.
I really liked this place. We were the only ones in the place and there were only two workers but the guy up front was very nice and did a really great job. My food was good, but there was a kind of buffalo sauce on my sandwich that didn't really fit in with the rest of it, but I still finished it. The atmosphere is inviting and I would recommend it to anyone in the area looking for a quick bite.
I went to grab lunch and found out it was happy hour.
Got their char siu burger which came with some waffle fries. Found out their apps are $2 off(from 2-5) and order their “better than the fix Mac n cheese” for $5, it was great. All In all it was some of the best food I’ve had in awhile and reasonably priced. Not to mention that their happy hour has a $2.50 blind pig IPA and to add a shot it’s only $1.
Best happy hour on University no question!
Came in to try out the new place on the block and was pleasantly surprised. Ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and it was good, the house spicy mayo made it amazing. Good food and good prices definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu
Went to check this place out and automatically felt welcomed from the bartender order a beer while I waited for my food. The pulled pork sandwich was out of this world & I can’t wait to go back try the rest of the menu. Great ambiance and has a unique vibe. Definitely worth to check it out.
