Had an amazing meal here on Mother's Day. We had a large group and the staff was awesome- very accommodating and friendly. They opened up the rooftop for us. The owner was great too and was very present throughout our visit. Torrington is lucky to have this great restaurant. I'll definitely return with friends because it also seems like a great nighttime spot, too. - creative, delicious drinks - excellent breakfast and lunch items. Everything was perfectly seasoned. Eggs Benedict was a hit at our table as was a fish special. - The strawberry shortcake dessert was loved by many.

Made reservations for Mothers Day lunch after seeing the menu at Hanqs. However, a few days before our reservations, a separate menu was provided that included 4 entrees that were on the high end for lunch ($30 al la carte entries). Whatever, it was a special occasion. There weren't many people in the restaurant at all, yet we were greeted as though we were some inconvenience and it was such an awkward welcome. Our waitress was a bit rude and seemed almost frazzled to have to wait on 3 tables. Even the young man that filled our waters seemed like it was his first day on the job. We sat for 1 hour and 10 minutes after ordering our food before we managed to grab the attention of a waitress and ask "how much longer". Apparently that was too much to ask and I was told that because I ordered my steak medium well, it takes time! I'm giving two stars because I felt the food, when it actually arrived, was delicious. It was pricey. $160 for 5 small lunch plates - no apps, no drinks, only water, etc.. Food was good - that service though! :-/

After an hour of waiting (2 pm - 3 pm today) I still had No drink... No water... No meal (salad), so I'd have to give a poor review. Actually at the 1 hr mark he re-asked me which salad I had wanted. My husband got his 1st beer 45 min in... well after fries and wings were given to him. We were disappointed because we really wanted to like this place but they were horribly understaffed for a Saturday. Total bummer because the menu looked good.
