Greenleaf Cafe

I stopped by the Greenleaf Cafe recently, and I will stop by again. It was a nice place with good food, but definitely seems new and like they're not quite sure what they're going for yet. The food: I am a meat eater and I have a hearty appetite, but most of my family is vegetarian and I try to respect that. I wanted to support this business that is safe for my vegetarian family and friends, but was dreading a meatless menu a bit. I ordered the baked spaghetti with potato wedges and grilled mixed veggies. My spaghetti was hearty, flavorful and filling! It had a great taste and texture and a meaty presence. The potato wedges and garlic bread were excellent. The veggies seemed like they were probably a frozen stir fry mix and needed some help, though. If they were fresh, they were clumsily prepared. The menu was a little on the light side. It seemed really disjointed and the offerings didn't seem that interesting. Really, the spaghetti was the only thing on the menu that sounded appealing so I am thankful it was good. I would love to see the menu taken in a more firm direction. The atmosphere: The Greenleaf Cafe was bare. It feels like the restaurant should be half the size it is; Maybe if they were to wall off half and make it a private dining area for groups, that would cause the main area to feel cozy and a little less barren. I couldn't tell what atmosphere they were going for. It just felt empty. It was clean and there was nothing concerning about it; It just wasn't overly welcoming. The staff & service: Our waiter was very friendly and helpful, and our food came out quickly with a pretty good presentation. The cake being served in a bowl was a little odd, but everything else looked lovely. Overall, I think the Greenleaf Cafe had great potential, and I would encourage you to give it a try. I just hope they figure out what they're trying to be and develop a vision and strategy so that the restaurant seems a little more coherent.

I’ve always had a lovely experience at this diner. The staff is friendly. The food is fresh and local. I’d recommend Greenleaf Cafe to anyone looking for healthy and delicious food in Toledo! The owners do this as a passion(I found this out chatting with them). They truly wanna make vegan/vegetarian option more abundant in Toledo. Give them some support and stop giving your money to cooperations that only care about their bottom dollar and NOT your body or health! They keep their menu small because they’re still up and coming, plus I’m sure that gives them a lot less waste each week(which I support fully!). This is sit down and it’s not “Fast Food” but your food will be timely, fresh and the correct temperature when it arrives. Call ahead to order your pick up if you’re in a rush. Enjoy 😋

What a great experience we had today at the Green Leaf Cafe! My niece and nephew came down from Canton Michigan for her birthday, and my husband and I were looking for somewhere to take them special for lunch. As they are Vegan this can sometimes be a challenge! We decided to try the Green Leaf Cafe, what a wonderful choice we made. The food was absolutely excellent! All four of us enjoyed every dish we tried! And there was live music too! I highly recommend this place to everyone, service was also very good although they were working short staffed. We will definitely go back again.

My boyfriend and I stopped in to grab lunch while waiting for our clothes to dry at the laundromat. We both got the baked spaghetti which came with two sides and a soup or salad each for only $12! We are not vegetarian or vegan (even though many of their menu items were) but we thought the food was incredible! I felt like I was back home having a dinner with the family- it tasted like real home cooking. The staff was very friendly, and the portions were huge for what you paid for. We both walked out with enough leftovers for dinner. This is definitely a place that I would go to again.

The food was great, however the portion size was small for the price. There was one to many plug in air fresheners. This was my second time eating here, but my first time eating in. It had been approximately 6 months ago that I had dined here. These were two of the main reasons why I gave them only 3 stars. If they were to improve on the price or portion size along with the atmosphere, this would probably become one of my top five favs to eat at when eating out.

The service was very good. It was so nice to find a place where I do not have to by sides to create a dinner. The food was good. The bbq ribs were tasty. No worry of seafood(i have allergy). I felt very comfortable there. Then dessert was a quite YUMMY Carmel Cake. I will be back. Thank you for being in Toledo. Very needed. Much success to Green Leaf Cafe.

Greenleaf is great vegetarian restaurant first of it's kind in the region and I was blown away on my first visit the food was very fresh and seasoned well. I ordered the vegetable stir fry and I'm not a vegetarian or vegan and the portions was huge. The service and owner were very kind professional and polite. I can't wait to go again.
