Probably the best sushi in the area. Expensive, but very fresh and tasty. Worth sitting at the sushi bar and letting the chef prepare what he likes (omakase).
Pretty good sushi but they use too much shiso (perilla leaves) which overwhelms some of the fish. For this area, I would recommend Kaminari sushi instead.
Absolutely divine. No California rolls, no mayo, no giant fish pieces - it's like eating in Tokyo (where I used to live, thank you). One of the top sushi restaurants in Los Angeles. Go if you have a clue about iwashi, if you know your aji from your saba, and if you love natto-maki. Some fish flown in from Japan and the Pacific Northwest. The rest of you plebes can just go elsewhere. Haha.
a very nice japanese restaurant with reasonable prices and lots of choices
From the first moment you arrive in that restaurant the personel give you a comfortable feeling. Very congenial hosts, it is a lovely place to to go out with friends or with your date. delightful food, creative chef, modest price and excellent service. Highly recommended.
Mitsu is a master! This is the best sushi anywhere.
I've tried sushi at every good sushi place in Ventura County and this place has the absolute best quality sushi. You will not find fancy rolls here all gunked up with sauce so that you can't tell if you're eating good sushi or road kill. Kanda is a very traditional Japanese-style sushi bar. The star here is nigiri sushi. It's pricey but worth every cent.
The chairs at the sushi bar are very comfortable. And that's definitely the preferable place to sit, not at a table. There's always good conversation to be had with the longtime, faithful clientele. And good sushi recommendations. Good place to impress a sushi-loving date if you've got the dough.
Omakase (chef's choice) is a great choice here. You can choose an upper limit dollar amount or just indicate when you are full. Be prepared to be amazed.
If you go to any top end sushi bar in L.A., some of which only serve omakase be prepared to have the chef tell you what you're going to eat & how to eat it. If you want rolls drowned in eel sauce, etc. there are plenty of places that do that, don't come here and expect it.
Finally find Real Japanese sushi, and it's delicious. Cant find any better in this area.
Excellent place to buy something when in a rush. The customer service is fast, prices are convenient, awesome vibes. Highly recommended
Try the live sweet shrimp, yellow-tail collar, and uni. Delicious!
