Barbecue Shack

Drove 20 minutes to try this place for the first time. Very disappointed!!! I ordered the chicken sandwich special that comes with fries and a drink and my husband ordered the 2 hotdogs special with fries and a drink. We waited in line about 10 minutes to order and originally planned to order breakfast since we had heard some good things about it, but we saw the biscuits, eggs, chicken tenders, etc. sitting up under a heat lamp while we were in line so we changed our mines to order items we thought would be fresher. The hotdogs were boiled and didn’t have any flavor, but my husband’s fries were hot. I was charged $.40 for 1 tomato on my sandwich and was not told it would be an extra charge and had 2 cold chicken tenders I am assuming were from the pile sitting under the heat lamps on the sandwich. I thought it was going to be a real chicken breast on the sandwich not 2 chicken tenders that made the sandwich fall apart were trying to eat it. My fries were barely warm and our drinks had a minimal amount of ice. The sweet tea wasn’t sweet and the Cheerwine was flat. Unfortunately I would not recommend this restaurant as a place to get a great hot meal.

The biscuits were good and the people friendly enough. The place was clean and service was adequate. I didn’t exactly feel welcome. More like tolerated. This visit had a mostly older crowd. The atmosphere is sort of an old Dairy Queen kind of thing. If you want a quick biscuit during your busy day. You could definitely do worse. If you’re taking your best girl out for a snack this will not impress. I gave 4 stars because for what they do they do well. They make a tasty biscuit.

i am SOO glad i discovered this place! their tenderloin biscuit with gravy is HUGE and sooo delicious! (pic doesnt do it justice) one of the best in my opinion! it literally keeps me full until dinner time (and i like to eat) lol their lunch is great also! i always get a cheeseburger & it never disappoints! highly recommend! also.. i added the menu at drive through as they have had a slight price increase.

I have be been going here for all my life, it's definitely changed alot. I do like the cleaner remodeled restaurant and the tenderloin biscuits are still the best but... They always always forget to get my order correct anymore, I've had my name on that board alot.. lol, it's nice that they do write your name down and you can go back at any time to get it but that's inconvenient if you've already got your food home and everybody is ready to eat. Plus I don't feel as comfortable going in to eat anymore,, staff isn't as friendly as they used to be.

In my constant search for the perfect biscuit and in particular the perfect tenderloin biscuit this place may be #1 on both but their tenderloin biscuit is definitely king. They are not cheap but they are huge with a flour dusted immense tenderloin crusted up on the flattop. Oh my! Their other biscuits are good as well. Bacon is piled on and the bologna is thicker than my head. Place is crowded [especially the drive thru] but they pump them out quick. They serve breakfast until 1 PM and they are NO LONGER cash only.
