Hickory Roots Bbq

Wow! Amazing barbecue, everything we had was delicious! Brisket and ribs were tender and well smoked, jalapeno sausage was good, okra was so good my 3 year ate a pint of it. My 8 year old says the macaroni and cheese is some of the best he's ever tasted. Staff was courteous and made us feel like family. Even though we live out of town we'll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Complete waste of time and money. I was very disappointed in the preparation of the food. The Smoked Sausage was prepared in a warming oven and never seen a smoker. Chop beef sandwich was ok until the hair was found, maybe if you zoom in you can still see it. Eddie Deen would definitely disapprove any of the food being served at this location. Sad. This used to be a really good BBQ restaurant. 😔

This is one of those places you won't know about, unless you live in the area, or by chance, you search for places to eat while in the area. Don't expect anything fancy. You go to in there to eat... a lot! Had the pulled pork with french fries and the salad bar. Limited menu, but lots of food, with good flavor, at a reasonable price. I'll definitely recommend it.

I would rate a 0 if I could. The staff was not happy or smiling, seems like we were a inconvenience to come in to eat. I ordered the sausage plate with Mac and cheese and green beans. The Mac and cheese was not good (and it’s hard to mess that up) the green beans were gross and salty, and the sausage was not smoked just warmed up. It was the grossest bbq place I have ever had. My husband ordered a chop beef sandwich only a tad bit of smoked flavor and it had a hair in it… we left our food couldn’t stomach it we left hungry and will never return.
