This place is wonderful for amazing food, phenomenal service, the best menu in town, and the best atmosphere. We love to come here because it's just a wonderful evening of dining.
We were in town for my Stepsons orientation to ISU and were going to be celebrating our first Anniversary!! Made reservations at J.Fords with a message that explained we would be in town for our anniversary and could you do something special for us. When we arrived, they planned a private corner booth with a candle and a personalized menu that said Happy Anniversary across the top. The steaks were so Awesome and perfectly made, the loaded baked potato and asparagus were out of this world good and the peanut butter pie was yummy. The bartender made the best tasting vodka gimlet i've ever had!! The wait staff was very attentive and the ambiance was tastefully decorated. We definitely give J.Fords a 10 and whenever were in town visiting we'll be back. Thanks so much to the Owners and team for making our first anniversary dinner a special one.

Such a great experience. The food was amazing and seeing the dishes I did not choose going to other tables created a thought provoking must come back attitude. The staff was amazing.
Best food I've ever had in my life. Shhh... Don't tell my grandma 😅 outstanding. The food, for starters, is worth every penny. The seafood duo (our starter) consisted of crab cakes and scallops. I've visited the east coast, where they pride themselves on seafood and let me tell you, Jeff's crab cake and scallops were the most delicious seafood I've ever eaten in my entire life. I literally cried real tears because of how excellent this food was.
Love love love. My go to place when I'm in town. The beef tips are to die for....
Everything about this place is excellent. The service was outstanding...the food was outstanding...the atmosphere was great. A bit pricey but worth it for a special occasion!
The server Chris was very knowledgeable about the food, spirits and wine. I was expecting a modest lunch and was surprised by the price. I judge a restaurant based off of several factors one the host. She seemed aloof, however, she was polite. Chris the server saved the restaurant. He was not only tending bar he was a server. Very polite and respectful. I also grade the restaurant based on the size of the menu. As a rule if there is a smaller menu the chef takes pride in his work, which was apparent by the eclectic options. This place is not ideal for people who are gluten free. The chef does not make substitutions, however, this is a sign he is meticulous about food pairing and choosing the right ingredients. I ordered the lentels vegan options, and the combination of the spices satisfied the pallet with a contrast of robust seasonings and textures. I did not award J Ford's Black Angus more than 4 stars because of the lack of gluten free options and the unwelcoming host. To pay more than $40 on a vegan meal and coffee I expect everyone to be more accommodating.
It was delicious. And very good service.
Absolutely perfect in every way. The wait staff are always courteous and professional.
The food is always phenomenal. I had the filet neptune that was cooked perfect.
The food and atmosphere are great. We were just really disappointed that they have nothing for kids. They wouldn't even let us order hamburgers for the kids because we weren't in the bar.
