Friendly staffs, quick
Came on a non bz time so we got all the attention.
Trying new thing and I'm glad food was delicious. More leftover.
Dining inside and outside the parking lot area.
Fried pork belly was nicely thinned, not the thick kind and I like thin.
Pancake was crispy.
Nice decor! Their 炸醬麵 has more water content than I'm used to, but the noodles were soft & chewy --nice texture. It is pricier than expected. So be prepared. Staff were nice and attentive.
Found this place that serves sesame green onion bread, which was delicious!!! The other dishes were also tasty. Wasn't expecting the pork hock to be deep fried, but it was meaty and the skin was very crunchy. Not cheap; we paid over $70 with tip for the two of us. Chinese food has gotten to be too expensive!!!
My kids recommended this place so I gave it a try. The place was clean and spacious, the food taste fresh. I can't comment too much about their services because there wasn't a lot to be served. I noticed that they do have 2 VIP rooms, and the minimum is reasonable. I like this restaurant and I will come back.
Have been craving for Northern Chinese food today and decided to order take-out from my favorite go to northern Chinese food restaurant.
Northern Cafe has all the right stuff to satisfy my craving. They are famous for their hand made noodle varieties. I particularly like their house special fry noodles with mama’s chili sauce and hand cut noodle. Another of my favorite dish is their beef pan cake roll. Unlike pre-pandemic food, Today’s beef tendon was tough and hard to bite on. Normally this dish is full of flavor with tender and tasty marinated beef tendons. The third dish we ordered today was their soy been with pickled veges and bean curb skin. This is a famous shanghai food and this restaurant has done it right.
Besides these three dishes mentioned, Northern Cafe has a very comprehensive northern Chinese food menu. I highly recommend their Jiaozi ( dumpling) and pot stickers. I have to said they are the best in the San Gabriel Valley. The sour cabbage fish soup is another dish worthy of trying out.
I am sure I will be back for more of their foods. Can’t wait to try other dishes.
What an amazing place to eat during pandemic. Out door dining with plenty of seating. High quality fresh meat and make your own sauce. We ordered #3 combo large + other dishes, the prime short rib is so juicy it melts in the mouth.
The owner is very friendly, shares with us his passion to find the best quality product to serve customers. This place recently just open the Yakiniku outdoor seating, so if your in the area, definitely stop by with a few friends to enjoy as the portion is very generous.
Craving for some Chinese pies, decided to order from this northern Chinese Cafe. I was going to order online, however, the menu was not complete. In the end, I called. I ordered noodle w/ bean paste (炸酱面), pork pancake, juicy pork dumpling (小笼包), beef roll, and pan fried pork dumpling. Their noodle was amazing, thin and chewy, the meat sauce tasted delicious. The pork pancake was superb, juicy meat w/ thin crust. However, the pan fried dumpling and juicy pork dumpling were not up to par, the skin was too thick, and no meat juice in them, very dry. The beef roll was fine, crust and meat were good. I will definitely get the noodle and pancake again.
