Chimney Cake Cafe

I came here a few days, have tried about 5 sandwiches. The chicken and lamb shawarma, The pizza roll and the Michigan were my favorite. You won't taste bread like this anywhere else. It is rich with flavor and the prices are so reasonable compared to other places. You might have to wait a few minutes as they actually cook everything fresh including the bread right there. It's a great little shop.

First the good news: The food.. Good lamb and chicken shwarama. (Which is what we had -- I would expect all the choices to be good). Not particularly spiced, but the sauces and pickles with it help to complete the picture. And the prices are very reasonable. The dessert cakes: Yummm! Sticky gooey outside, tender fluffy white inside. At least 100,000,000 calories. Worth a splurge. Good or Medium news: This is NOT a fast food cafe. Everything is cooked to order on the spot. So you're going to wait a little bit your food, but they cook pretty fast. I think this is a good thing (since it's being prepared right in front of you.) But if you're in a rush on your break ... not so good. Not good news: two tables! Absolutely would not order dessert here if a table were not available. Sandwich roll I could take with, but not the dessert. The don't offer hand-wipes! What's with that! The give you gooey -- very, very yummy gooey, but still gooey desserts and hand-held food. And no way to clean your hands ... or your kids hands and face (and probably clothes, but I don't expect them to cover that!) and then NO Way to wash except dipping a paper napkin (or 5 - because these disintegrate while looking sidewise at them) in water. And I'm in a shopping mall, many many many feet from the restrooms where I can wash my hands. SO LET'S MAKE OFFERING HAND-WIPES A REGULAR THING! And an annoyance: they have a HUGE banner stating "Voted best shwarama in town." I was not able to find a single link to anyone in this or any other town that supports this. And I detest false advertising. It's tasty, and it may be up there with "the best" but no-one voted on it as far as I can tell!
