In a few words, the food here is simply awesome. The range of flavors you get to experience is just so out of this world. Every item on the menu is delicately put together to bring an experience like none other. We tried a few things here, like the Shitake peppers, Truffle Ricotta toast, duck lasagna and the star of the evening, the shell steak. Everything was excellent but the steak was something else. The steak is dry aged, cooked to perfection, and laid on top of cloud of mashed potatoes made with beef fat. Delicious. Every bite I took, I had to place my knife and fork down and just savor the moment and each flavor in my mouth. We finished the evening with the Panna cotta, which was soft and delicate that it would just melt in your mouth. All the staff at the restaurant are very courteous and has great recommendations. The chef and the owner of the restaurant came out to socialize with us, making the evening even more special. I think we are going to come back here again and again.

I took my boyfriend here for father's day. The place has a REALLY well put-together "shabby-chic" atmosphere. We were greeted BY NAME at the door for our dinner reservations, and led through the very well, naturally lit front dining area and bar to the ambiently lit back main dining area. After being seated, the menus were explained and and guy who i believe to be the chef took our drink orders. My boyfriend had some local beer that I don't remember and I had an old fashioned (very tasty, especially the cherry). Before placing our dinner orders, we were given a bread basket (bread was soft, chewy and crispy all at once; HOW is this possible?) with some kind of ricotta spread that was absolutely delightful! We ordered the meatballs and duck lasagna for appetizers, and they were both INCREDIBLY delicious! The meatballs were SO juicy and SO flavorful and we dipped the leftover bread into the lovely sauce leftover from the meatballs. Immediately after my first bite of the duck lasagna (fresh lasagna noodles layered between shredded duck, braised greens, and some TO-DIE-FOR creamy white sauce, shaved parmesan and a fried egg on top), I googled looking for the recipe, it was that good! I could eat that anytime, it literally melted in my mouth. There were so many flavors, and I'm salivating just thinking about it, ugh! So good!! Finally it was time for entrees: chicken- fried chicken breast atop the creamiest (gravy-smothered) polenta I've ever tasted with a side of greens (kale & collard, I believe); he had the steak and mashed potatoes. Again, everything was beautifully seasoned and the flavors were incredible. The cuts of chicken and steak were so fresh and tender and juicy...I cannot say enough about the chef's ability to perfectly season everything 🙌🏼 I wasn't able to finish my food, but they were happy to wrap it up (and discreetly place it in a bag near the table while we finished our drinks!). We had the panna cotta with homemade honeycomb candy chunks and caramel sauce. I'd never tried panna cotta, so I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was (texture is important to me and it was perfect)! But I REALLY loved the honeycomb toffee, and the 3 altogether made a spectacular and light dessert. I will be bringing my mom and cousin here for brunch on my next visit 😊

The entirees did not impress and came out cold. The chicken was undercooked and partially raw while the duck was a bit overcooked. I will say the duck lasanga and sides wers amazing. That combined with the excellent service is why this location earned 3 stars.

My wife and I started with the Bolognese and the duck lasagna, they were incredible, the Bolognese made me wish I had ordered the entree size for myself. My wife got the cacio De pepe and I got the shell steak. I wanted the pork chop but they had sold out. The shell steak was cooked perfectly, seasoned just how I would want it. Then I finished off with the lemon meringue pie (deconstructed). It was all so effing good.

I would return to The Twisted Oak without hesitation. The appetizers ( carrots, Shishito Peppers, and others) were delicious. My entre, Roasted Organic Salmon with smoked Mascarpone and fresh summer greens was very good. Warm bread and butter we're served beforehand. My colleagues and I shared desserts, family-style, and enjoyed lemon meringue (deconstructed), fresh strawberry shortcake, chocolate soup (oh, my goodness!), and our server added another delectable to top it all off... . The server was knowledgeable and very attentive. Service was prompt and timely (we were there on a Wednesday evening). I'm looking forward to returning... .
