De la Tierra has to be the best restaurant in Taos, maybe New Mexico, hidden away in El Monte Sagrada, it offers excellent high end dining, with knowledgeable and helpful staff. Chris was our waiter, and while quiet and reserved, he offered excellent suggestions and advice pertaining to our meal. While at other restaurants, the staff would make small talk for the sake of it, when Chris spoke, he enlightened us to everything De la Tierra had to offer. We ordered the cornbread, which by far was the best cornbread I've ever had and I know how to make corn bread. The scallops and the tenderloin were excellent and they had an extensive cocktail and wine list. I highly recommend this place, make sure to make reservations.
Side Note: Noah, who I believe was a manager was very courteous and professional, inquiring whether or not we were enjoying our meal, which of course we were.
Came here for an after work drink and app. Amazing menu with options for all + full bar! I got the crispy artichokes, soup of the day and a banana fosters old fashioned! So good! Highly recommend!
Probably one of my favorite brunch experiences ever! I'm surprised this place doesn't have a higher rating. The food was phenomenal. We ordered the specials: blue pinon pancakes and the smoked salmon avocado toast. I think the pictures speak for themselves. The atmosphere was beautiful. Very relaxing with lots of plants and an outdoor amazon/garden feel. Definitely be sure to walk around the resort and check out the pool area and the cool ponds in the back.
Best breakfast burrito I've ever had. It was loaded with bacon, breakfast sausage, potatoes, scrambled eggs and smothered with red chili sauce and topped with avocado. Quality of each of the ingredients were excellent. We also shared an almond croissant which was still warm. Very relaxing vibe in a quiet indoor garden type space as other reviewers have mentioned. Just try it, I don't think you will be disappointed.
Hands down one of my favorite restaurants. My friends and I went for a birthday brunch and ordered about 6 dishes to share among the 4 of us because for the dining experience we expected small portions. The portions were amazing and every dish was spectacular. Growing up on the coast I never expect much from seafood in the middle of the country but our lobster was cooked beautifully and so fluffy and flavorful. We were also blown away by the huevos rancheros, which we eat regularly back home. They did such a beautiful job of elevating the dish while showcasing its integrity. Our drinks were all fantastic too! I had a Bellini not expecting much but the bartender put so much care and effort into that and everything. Our waitress was also phenomenal and even brought out a fresh cinnamon roll the chef whipped up for my friend and the staff came out and lit a candle for her.
Food was delicious. The chef really did a good job on the veal. The rainbow trout was fall off the bone tender and juicy.
Even though I've dined here dozens of times since this hotel first opened, it's only now that I've felt compelled to write a review. I'd always thought the food before tonight to be adequate but nothing extraordinary. I don't know if there's a new chef or what, but the trout that I had tonight was about the most flavorful fish I've had outside of Japan! The ginger, the pickled vegetables, the cashew sauce.... Oh my goodness, I could eat this every day! And the service was stellar, too. Thank you for making our whim of Christmas outing so delicious and memorable.
We enjoyed the best Thanksgiving dinner we've ever had. The staff were very professional and attentive. The meal was so fresh, creative, and delicious. And the pecan pie was life changing. If this is how Chef cooks every meal, the wait list should be a month long!
The reviews from last summer were not flattering. We decided to take a chance. The service was top shelf. The food and wine list was divine.
This restaurant would fit right in, in Santa Fe. Taos has a culinary gem, I hope they appreciate what they have. Ask to dine next to the fish tank.
We went for drinks, as all of our usual places were full. The drinks menu add some new additions, and the Negroni I had was delicious, but quite strong. We shared a hummus plate that was good. Just know this is by far the most expensive place in the Taos area for drinks.
