Prices were moderate. Service was quick. You would give it. The coffee was good and I made it about 3 1/2 stars out of five and not exceptional but definitely adequate. They also had a highchair for the children child. They are chocolate eclairs with the filling cream is highly recommended. All food stamps were hot and served right away.
We had about a ten-minute wait to get in on a Friday morning around 10am. The line moved quickly. Nice atmosphere inside and a decent selection of breakfast items, many with a New Mexican twist. Service was quick and friendly. We ordered a simple eggs and sausage link breakfast and German pancakes with a side of eggs. The coffee was pretty good as was the food. The plate presentation was pretty basic. Scrambled eggs were more folded than fluffy. The pastries and donuts in the bakery looked delicious. Our server, Michael, was terrific.
Good diner food with a New Mexican flare. This place has a wide variety of things to choose from for breakfast and lunch. They serve breakfast all day with some exceptions of things done by 11:30. They have many omelette and egg breakfast options with plenty of green chili to smother your plate. For lunch the dish up huge salads, sandwiches and burgers. My mom got the chef salad and was impressed by the size. I chose the veggie burger. That was good and the french fries were double fried. The price is reasonable at $12 -$16 a plate.
This is one of those places that deserves more than 5 stars. (Special stars, Google?)
I'm a tad jealous that the locals get to eat here whenever they want.
I'd recommend the cheese enchilada plate, double beans, 2 eggs over easy on top. Christmas style, hold the lettuce, please). Wonderful service too.

Really good breakfast food. The service was excellent. No wait at 7:00 am. Reasonable prices. Great variety. Excellent on premises baked goods
We had an excellent bacon cheeseburger and the best breakfast enchiladas since Betty White was a baby.
The service was great. Michael had all the best recommendations.
But what I'm upset about is I did not save room for the cream puffs and other WOW style baked goods.
Now we have to come back.
This little place really won my heart.

And good reason the food was absolutely delicious. Ours was breakfast, y'all try the egg and cheese enchiladas with salsa Verde with a little beef in sauce
The side was pinto beans and spanish rice, with lettuce and tomatoes sprinkled on top and avocado.
And bacon on side coffee was great and service was perfect

Dining at Michael’s kitchen is like dining in your mothers kitchen at home. The experience feels like you are apart of their family. The food is amazing. The staff are happy and attentive.
The menu has a large variety of breakfast items and is affordable. There is something delicious and tasty for everyone. The smell of freshly baked tasty treats fills the air as you dine.
I would recommend Michael Kitchen and Bakery as a must stop place for breakfast if you are visiting Taos.

Came down the mountain from staying at Taos Ski Valley to hike Wheeler Peak and was looking for breakfast and lunch options before heading to Santa Fe. Got here around 1PM and there was still a line, but it moved fairly quickly that we were sat in the middle of the dining room with a 360 view of all the artwork and memorabilia on the walls. As we got closer to the wait station, our eyes drifted off to the bakery section as I scoped out the last 2 chocolate eclairs. Word to the wise, get them right away because by the time we were seated and went back to pick out our desserts, the eclairs were gone. I got the Poor Man's Eggs Benedict, but got my second disappointment that poached eggs were only until 11:30. Besides these two downers, the food and service were top-notch. Kids loved their enchiladas and taquitos and my son shared "the best French toast" he's ever had. I asked the waiter for syrup and realized it was like asking for ketchup for a steak, because their home-made bread melts in your mouth with enough flavor you don't need syrup. We took our cookies, bakeries and to-go meals with us on the road and talked about it for the rest of the weekend.
Grabbed a couple of breakfast burritos to go on way to ski, which were excellent. Forgot my other bag with baked goods. They had it waiting on me the next morning. Great food and terrific staff...what more could you ask for?!!
