Best food on campus, by far. Tarek's has delicious food! Some healthy items, some indulgent items. The items I've tried and love include: 1. The cheeseburger. This thing is so perfect; it is always juicy with the right amount of cheesy-ness. I like mine with crunchy pickles inside. 2. The gyro. It's got homemade tzatziki sauce on fresh, warm pita. 3. Black beans and rice. I am Latina, and I must say that this is some of the best BBR I've had around the USF area. Tarek's kicks it up a notch with some hot sauce. If you really dig this dish, come back the next day - it's usually the soup du jour! 4. The desserts. Tarek's has home made cakes and cookies. They vary weekly and include a basic (but amazingly indulgent) chocolate cake, a slightly sweet nut encrusted carrot cake with caramelized carrot, huge morning muffins, and even cake pops! 5. The morning cheese toast. I've been eating this for years - Cuban toast on the grill, lightly buttered, with melted cheese. Perfect. I crave this stuff. 6. The tilapia. among one of my fave daily specials, served with in-season veggies from Tarek's greenhouse. 7. Last but not least, the sweet tea. Fresh brewed daily, it runs out quick!
BEST FOOD ON USF CAMPUS. If you are a student or employee at USF. You are missing out if you don't at least have one meal at Tareks. Either Breakfast or Lunch, you will not be displeased. Best home cooked food you will ever have.
I have been working at USF for close to 5 years. I have to say, for the price, quality and service, Tareks Cafe cannot be beat. Great people, great food, always a warm welcome when you walk in there door.
You will be missing out in life if you don't stop by and try Tareks.

Best food on campus!. A nice little place, with a great staff, and delicious food. it's independently owned, making it the only place you can go on campus and not feel like you're eating on campus. and they have daily specials featuring items you'll find nowhere else at USF. best place to eat at the university, by far.
A hidden gem on the USF campus. Not a chain, not a corporation. Great food, friendly, homey atmosphere. I love this place. They are a great asset to the campus.

okay. so you're new to USF. i understand. you're a little baby! and there are a whole bunch of you. a whole bunch of little, annoying babies, running around campus all hours of the day, enjoying your new-found freedom, drinking and having sex and sleeping through classes, thinking life is oh-so-wonderful, and generally ruining everything for anyone who has to come near the university for any reason at all. thanks for that. eventually, you're going to be crushed by the cruel realities of life. so enjoy this while it lasts. for those of us who have already been devastated by exposure to the real world, we have to take delight in all the little things that make life tolerable. and one of those little things, right on the USF campus, tucked away in the NEC building (northwest educational complex??) is a little cafe called tarek's. tarek's cafe is a small beauty, likely to become your favorite on-campus food spot if you pay them a visit. it seems to be decked out to look like a cheap beachs
Their drugs’ sandwich is insanely good, definitely the best brunch sandwich in town. Muffins are also exceptional. Super convenient location in USF, great quality, great service
I am USF Alumna and never knew this shop was on campus! Just discovered it today when looking for a quick bite. The owner was so nice and has a rapport with everyone that walked it! I ordered a chicken quesadilla and fries that he makes it in front you. The price was reasonable for the amount you get. I will definitely be back!
I’ve walked by this cafe for a year now an finally checked it out. This food is gooood!! The fries are crispy and seasoned. And the Cuban sandwich that I got was juicy and flavorful! There are quite a few different foods to order here and they have a nice drink selection too. Also… their honey mustard is killer! I would definitely check this place out.
I was addicted to Tareks food for like a month EVERYTHINGS so delicious and his customer service is superb- hes such a ray of light Gods radiance shines through him …. I had to stay away from this place or else id be hugggee its so yummy
I love this place. I’ve tried several items that were all fantastic, but the muffins are what keeps me coming back. Do yourself a favor and try the coconut cream cheese muffin. So good I day dream about them!
Absolutely delicious AND halal!! I’m from Houston where I’ve had my fair share of philly cheesesteaks, but Tarek’s is hands-down the best I’ve ever had. The chicken philly, chicken chimichanga, and Cuban sandwich are also FANTASTIC. The owner is so kind and pleasant. Everything about this place is awesome (except the lack of parking but I order ahead and run in to grab it, it’s totally worth it). I’ll keep coming back to try more of the menu as it’s officially my favorite lunch spot, and now I always look even more forward to lunch time. Highly highly recommend giving Tarek’s a try! You won’t regret it.

Every single thing I tried here tastes amazing. I am picky with my food, I can eat food from this place all day. The owner is super cool and friendly.
When I was a student at USFs COPH, Tarek's sustained me. It's a little hidden gem that's out of the way, away in the corner of the entire property. The inside is also relatively small on seating and accommodations, but oh man, the food!
You come to Tareks for the food (and Tarek). Every time, their food hits the spot like it was made with homemade love and care. My personal favorite was the Drugs sandwich (because you'll get addicted), and he makes reallllly mean pancakes, probably the best pancakes I've had in the Tampa area.
Easy walk from the parking lot straight through a building and on the left after you exit. At first I was intimidated because Tareks is on an unfamiliar campus, but I found it quickly and I'm glad I did! Very friendly staff and the cook, who seems like the owner/operator, was very warm and genuine. Oh, and the food is very good. Just go, it's all good and worth it. I don't live in Florida, so a good meal can be hard to find sometimes, but this is a score for what it is. Thanks and keep up keeping up!
