Slice Pizza And Grinders

We would like to thank Slice for their kind gesture of sponsoring Movie Night for the GCA community. Tony Fox is a phenomenal Manager and the crew is so polite. We appreciate the whole staff with the customer service. Some of the new items are so good! The stuffed cheese rolls & Philly very authentic food you can tell the sauce is homemade!!!! Nothing like authentic recipes in a Ny slice!!!! Thank you thank thank you! Highly recommend

My husband and I go to lunch here quite often, usually once, sometimes twice a week. We would get outstanding service from Tony and Talia, and they were really great and comfortable to talk to. Today we went and it was quite a different experience. We ordered a 14" pizza and got a 12". Initially, they had no ice, but did end up filling the machine after about 15 minutes. Three of the fountain sodas were out of order. The covers for the drinks did not fit the cups, (they ended up giving us different cups and covers after requesting them.) The pizza was not the same quality as it was when Tony or Talia would make the pizza. The ingredients were not fresh and lacked flavor and the crust was different and cooked a bit too long. We will not be returning there, which is really disappointing. UPDATE: 9 NOV 23 Today my husband and I went back to Slice. The experience was a total 180 from our last visit. We were welcomed by the owner and Tony. We were very happy to see Tony and had a chance to talk with him. The place was very clean, the environment was comfortable, and the pizza was fantastic! We really appreciate the owner bringing Slice back to the quality it was before. Thank you so much for being everything we expect as customers and the refreshing experience!

Update (10/26/23): They're back! The old owners and management have been brought back and have returned Slice to its former glory! Quality ingredients, expert tradecraft, and actually giving a damn about your customers is what sets a restaurant apart from the others. I can honestly say that Slice now checks all of those boxes. I highly, highly recommend giving them a try and seeing the night & day difference for yourself. Best part of it all is that, even after not seeing him for 5+ months, Tony immediately remembered me and my usual order. Never had that "Cheers" feeling at a place until now. Old Update (Now outdated) (7/8/23): Unfortunately, I have to lower my rating of Slice. It seems that they were bought out and have entirely new management who have completely changed their pizza recipe. The new pizza is frankly just not good. It's too thin despite not being a thin crust, with minimal sauce & toppings. I've had worse, but honestly would prefer chain pizza instead. This change is super disappointing as now there are no good (in my opinion) small-business pizza shops in the lower South Tampa area. Original review (Now applicable after latest update): Hands-down the best pizza place in South Tampa. There are few things better than a good slice of pizza. I'll eat just about any pizza, however, my standards for what defines "good pizza" are pretty high. Slice is one of the few places I've ever been to which has made consistently good pizza. The portions, toppings, cheese, dough, and bake are always right on the money for my tastes. The manager, Tony, has always been friendly and eager to help out with all customers who have come in. I've personally seen him remake orders and comp customers for things not being up to his standards. He has sought out feedback and opinions from customers on new products they were testing or even the quality of specific ingredients. I can't recall ever seeing manager so invested in making the customer feel involved and appreciated. Bottom line: if you're looking for some good pizza in South Tampa, look no further.

This is the new, old, returning manager that a lot of you know and dealt with. I just came back to work with the new ownership here after the last people trashed what I and others built for years. I'm bringing the quality, cleanliness, and consistency back in a big way. I look forward to continuing to work with the community, see you all soon.
