Sundown Cantina

My wife and I can't figure out why this place always seems to be busy. Reasons are as follows: 1. Food is made and reheated when ordered. Always dry, always bland. 0/3 when trying different food items. 2. Drink menu is as basic as it gets with a poor beer/cocktail selection. 3. Usually messy/dirty Final time there my wife couldn't even choke down her chicken chimichanga and passed on a take home box for it. We won't be patrons again

I ordered two beef tacos. They had no topping, a small piece of diced onion on the plate, and a small piece of lettuce the size of a tablespoon on the plate. Two very small wedges of lime were so dried up, I couldn’t get any juice out of them. Very disgusted with this place that was once a decent little place.

I was a bit apprehensive when we first arrived. It was not busy at all however I realized it was only a little after 5 on Saturday. We were seated quickly and this is where the only negative thing happened, it took atleast 5 minutes to be greeted by our server and get a drink order she smell heavily of perfume so Ifiguredshe was grabbing a quick smoke before the rush. She was very good from that point on with food and beverages and was funny and engaging. We got wings for an appetizer they were served hot with blue cheese you can get ranch dip too if you desire. They were they were very good. All four of our meals arrived at the same time. Trio fajitas (shrimp steak and chicken) 1 ground beef chimichanga and 1 carnitas and enchiladas and everyone was very satisfied with what they had all said it exceeded their expectations. By the time we left there was a slight wait to be seated. I liked it way better then Te'kela's in Sylvania.

Good service even though they were packed and dealing with a large and rowdy group at the next set of tables. The servers were attentive and hustled their butts off. Food was decent. Veggies on the veggie platter weren't the freshest but honestly still good. Everyone in my group enjoyed their meals. I would like to go back when it isn't so packed to get a better idea of what their usual service is like. I have a feeling I would change my rating to 5 stars on a normal day.

Wanted to give it 2-stars, but I can't help that I like to be generous. The food I've had there has been pretty good, but the poor review is primarily for the times when I don't get food. At lunch time the phone sometimes rings for a long time before someone picks up... if they pick up. When you do tell them you want to order for pick-up, they put you on "hold" where they just set the phone down. I guess that's only happened to me three times. One time I actually waited for five minutes, walked over from the other building in the plaza, and ordered in person while I was still "on hold." Another time I was on hold for maybe just 3-4 minutes, but I was hungry so it felt like forever. The third time I just gave up, hung up, and called another restaurant nearby to order food. Anyway, if you get their food... it's not too bad. Like typical diner food, but Mexican.

Absolutely Fabulous ! Our first visit. We will visit again ! I had chorizo burrito & it was delicious ! Girlfriend had chicken burrito & really liked it ! Had the dark margarita & was stunned by how small it was when it arrived at the table. No need ! I "felt" it after i finished it off. Instantly impressed !
