Portillo's Sycamore

Everyone told me I had to get Portillos while in Illinois, and now I know why! I was so happy to see veggie dogs on the menu and to be able to get it Chicago style; that was the best suprise! The dogs were delish and the famous chocolate cake shake was to die for. You can sit down and enjoy the eclectic, maximalist design or get your meal to go pretty quickly. Definitely check it out while you're in Illinois!

I used to love this place until they began cutting corners. Now it's a roll of the dice if you're going to get a chicken sandwich that has a chicken breast half the size of its bun. Or if you'll get a full portion of onion rings or just 6 of them. Or if they're going to charge you full price for a large French fries though you hand them a coupon for the fries to be free. The drive thru window employees don't even say hello or thank you but tell you the total and send you on your way. The curbside order takers are still rock stars though - they always do a great job.

Even when you guys repeat the order a total of 3 times correctly and enter it you still cannot give me the right items. I ended up with house dressing despite the fact that my receipt says ranch and the woman at the window said it had ranch. I should have looked in the bag but you all decided to staple it closed for some reason. My order is wrong more times than it is right at this point.

Maybe it's just me, but I usually get good service with my good energy. Anyway, the food was what it should be, my order was on point, just some good ole Portillo's to satisfy my cravings. Was addressed as boss when I got my food. Gotta love people because we see each other everyday on a planet full of them. 🤘🏻🤙🏻😎

Usually Portillos is really good but today I’m not happy with the service. I ordered a beef and cheddar croissant at 4:05 and waited almost 15 minutes to find out they never called for my food. While I was waiting there were four employees getting food and that seemed to be there priority. These employees that were still in uniform were swearing at the counter in front of us customers. Long story short when I did finally get my food that must have been sitting for awhile my sandwich was so soggy I couldn’t even pick it up.
