I got to sit outside and watch the ocean so that was a plus for me. The food was good but not the best on the beach.The onion rings are good but way too big! When I bit it all the breading fell off so I had to peice it back together to eat it. The bacon on my burger was not cooked crisp so I had to pull off the raw fat. The waitress was nervous and overwhelmed but did good for just me. There's no room to walk inside when it's busy. Ok, so it's not my favorite place. You'll have to decide for yourself!!
Easy parking in their lot. We went about noon on a Sunday, and there wasn't a wait. The food came out hot and delicious in a very timely fashion. Highly recommend based on our experience this visit.
Came in around 830 on a Mon night it was dead but the service was on point. They were out of salads? but who is eating salads at river city? Food was really good..Burgers, wings, onion rings chicken strips ALL perfect. Our server was great she was on top of everything. Love how they give you tons of sauces w everything. Can't wait to come back!
Fantastic burgers, loads of great combinations. Went around lunch time on a weekday, no wait.
Started with the Cheese Fries w/ Chili. Came soon and hit the spot. Portion-wise, good for 2 people. The fries were a good average cut, and the chili was tasty, with a slight kick.
I ordered the Surf ‘n Turf burger. Think Firecracker Shrimp on a burger. If you like that, then you’ll love this one.
Their burgers alone are fantastic, and exceptional. Every bite of the burger showed the restaurant knew their stuff.
Another member of my party ordered the Philly Steak. Solid order, if you’re feeling it. They also got onion rings as a side (upcharge) which were MASSIVE. Although they tasted good, their size means that there is a thick slab of onion to bite through. This turned me off from eating them.
Overall, solid experience with fantastic burgers. There are dozens of combination, so you won’t get bored.
Great place grew up around here. Great to come back and see the views. Awesome food!
Five of us visited for a lunch celebration for early high school graduation! We sat outside on the deck, and the atmosphere and view were fantastic. Our server was incredible, and not once did our drink glasses near the empty mark. We all chose a different burger or sandwich, and all were excellent. We also ordered hot Buffalo wings and deep-fried mushrooms, both excellent as well. Additionally the coleslaw had rasins in it. Wich I love. Everything came with plenty of blue cheese or ranch for dipping. A must visit on any day and especially a beautiful January day. The Surfside pier is under construction.
River City Cafe was recommended by a local while we were on vacation. Set on the deck and it was a bit breezy but nice. Sandwich prices are decent $10-$20. Fries are extra. The sweet potato fries were so good. My party enjoyed their food. My Baja chicken was delish!!!delightful!!! Pictured sliced open. Trip well spent
Maybe a bit beach-grungy-looking with a VERY welcoming atmosphere. Went at 8pm on Wed, had 1/2 hr. wait. Hostess is a gem...sweet, friendly & very welcoming. Our server was Brittany & by far, provided THE best service we've ever had anywhere, & it seemed natural, not forced. The onion rings were okay. The burgers were great!! Better than we imagined, even with all the good reviews. Bacon cheeseburger, mac & cheese burgers & the OMG burger. Will definitely be back next time we come to Surfside!!
I had low expectations when we sat down and I realized they were affiliated with Nacho Hippo. We all got burgers and it was one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten. My son got the kids version - it was the same size as the adult. Fries were also really good and perfectly seasoned. A few minutes before our food arrived, I commented to my husband they didn’t ask how I wanted my burger cooked and I got a little nervous and he confirmed they didn’t ask him either. Not to worry, it was cooked well, but still juicy and flavorful! I can’t wait to come back to surfside to get another burger.
Awesome burger joint, I come for lunch at least once every year on vacation. Burgers are awesome, get the Peanut Butter Bacon burger, trust me you won't be disappointed.
