Price is on the high side for hotpot. There was no waiting line at dinner time on a Saturday.
Hot soup is authentic. Mild hot soup base tasted pretty hot for me. Meat and veggies were fresh.
I also recommend to try red bean soup from the snack bar.
BTW the bathroom is pretty neat.
I cannot believe that I have not recommended this place yet. Very authentic hotpot from chengdu. Have not found another that matches this one yet. Don’t give me those big name ones. This is really the taste I know from my hometown. Could be really spicy for people cannot take hot foods. The occasionally available pig brain is a must try.
When I’m craving for Sichuan peppercorn throbbing, spicy and satisfying comfort food, Jin Li Yuan never fails to deliver. Invite a group of friends and order Yin/Yang pot, spicy and non spicy bone broth based, huddle around the aromatic pots, and dip and swipe your favorite poisons, albeit Kobe beef, fish balls, shrimps or tripes, sweat away, down some watermelon juice or cold beers then do it again.
I really like this place. Kind of pricy.
