I have been going to Kabul Afghan Restaurant since its opening over 30 years ago. It has always been fantastic, consistent, and the food is always fresh and delicious. The owner Mr. Najib, and his son Edris are very friendly and they oversee the operation. The staff are very friendly, and the service is great. These are few pictures of our orders. The eggplant appetizer melts in your mouth. The pumpkins appetizer is mouthwatering ( the picture doesn’t do it justice since we ordered the toppings (yogurt sauce and tomato meat sauce) on the side). The meat and chicken are very juicy and cooked to perfection. The ambiance is elegant and the decor is tasteful. We frequent this restaurant very often. I highly recommend it.

Amazing lamb skewers that go together very well with the typical Afghan tea! This is my cozy go-to place in the Bay Area! Pretty much the meat dishes come with pallaw which is very good rice will make you feel at comfort 😊
Afghan tea is refilled and waiters are very kind!
Highly recommend! 👌🏻
One of the best south Asian cuisine restaurants.
Yes its one of the high priced one in the Sunnyvale downtown. But truly worth with the ambience and the show pieces from Afghan Culture.
Loved it.
Craving for Afghan food and Kabul never fails. Covid have changed a couple of things. They no longer serve salad before your entree and whether it’s lunch or dinner, it’s the same price. They use to offer lower price in lunch plate but that no longer is available. Service is good, clean and the food is always amazing. I recommend Kabul’s Combo plate and can choose between beef or lamb and it come of chicken (two skewers total) and the Seafood Combo which is salmon and prawns. I always ask for the green hot sauce. It’s yummy with everything! Highly recommend!
Quick and friendly staff , food was fresh and tasty
Big and generous portions
A bit pricey

Incredible! Ordered the mantu dumplings and the kafta kebob, was really surprised with it overall. Most places will give you a small kebob, or 2 very small ones, whereas the picture he truly captures the portion size they serve. More importantly though, it tasted great! Staff serving me were super friendly as well and very attentive!
Kabul Afghan Cuisine offers great Afghan food, a fine dining ambience, and exemplary service. We walked in at 6:30 pm on a Friday evening and immediately got a table with no wait time. Servers were quite courteous and prompt.
I got started with dough (a buttermilk-like drink) and the pakawra-e-badenjan appetizer (4 fried eggplant with yogurt but no meat sauce). Very filling and we realized later that we over-ordered, given how large the portions are for the entrees! We got the vegetarian platter which came with bread, variety of curries (spinach, cauliflower and pumpkin with yogurt) and an enormous plate of white rice (challow). When I say enormous, I mean even being a big eater myself it could've fed two people. The pictures don't do it justice since I dove in right away and only took pics after LOL.
For dessert, I got the firnee (this sweet pudding with cardamom) while my friend got the Afgani ice cream. Unbelievably flavorful and keeping in tradition with the entrees, huge portions. For the price, I can say this Afghan restaurant is certainly worth it for the experience and delectable cuisine. Highly recommend and will be coming here again. Happy to support Afghan restaurants particularly during these challenging times.
Fantastic! The appetizers were delicious, especially the ground meat sauce that comes with them. Was envious of the person in our group who ordered the dumpling plate -- the tasted of that I had was mind blowing. The Lamb with eggplant was also good. The lamb under rice, carrots and raisins was surprisingly simple -- not entirely dry or anything... it was fine food, but I was bummed it didn't have the same sauciness as the other dishes. I misinterpreted the menu. The kids loved it though.
I will go back. I want to try everything on the menu.
