Robin, the owner, was absolutely gracious and the BEST! He would help cater my church lunches at a very reasonable cost for delicious Japanese food! So sad to see that he's Temporarily CLOSED, I hope that Take-Sushi finds a NEW location SOON!!

2023.10 they are leaving us, owner retired
2022.07 revisit I still love it great value and delicious
2019.03 went few more times no disappoint at all
2018.05 OMG really yummy...even lunch special katsu Don excellent. Tsukiji fish...depends on your luck.
2018.02 not a busy day... So not much special fish. Believe Fri Sat is better. I still tried the omakase sushi and sashimi...better than lot of place. But not going to full your stomach.... Salmon skin handroll is really good.. The seaweed won't get "moist" still crispy... Will go again...

I've eaten really, really good sushi and sashimi. This place comes close but for that price and the service, I'll give it a 5. Very lovely people who seem to enjoy what they're doing. The food is really fresh. So instead of spending twice the amount of money somewhere midtown, you can go here for nearly close quality. Street parking is not that hard. A lot of good restaurants in the neighborhood too if you wanna check them out.

Came after seeing it on tiktok
Definitely lives up to the hype.
The sushi is really good but also super surprised how nice and crispy the chicken teriyaki was I ate some and then had to share a picture it was so good

The sushi here is really nice and fresh, you can definitely taste (and see) how great the seafood is! That said, the prices are relatively high for dinner dine-in, though of course the quality is better. Hoping to visit one last time before they leave forever. Goodbye, Takesushi!

We ordered sushi & sashimi deluxe for 2, tofu&avocado salad, sweet shrimp, white shrimpora.

One of the best sushi in nyc! We ordered a sushi set B and a Chirashi bowl. What surprised me is that their Chirashi bowl comes destructively. Meaning you can place your own fish, and it works perfect for me since I’m allergic to shellfish. So I get to place whichever place the type of fish I’d prefer in my Chirashi bowl.
They serve 70-80% of sashimi straight from Japan. So the quality is there.
The location of the shop is a few blocks away from 7. I’d recommend take a trip to visit them.

Food was delicious, had some authentic vegetarian roll options and my bf said the fish was the freshest he’s had before. We went on Saturday around 1pm and had to wait 30 minutes a table. Had a good time, would come again

I came here with my parents and my girlfriend during Labor Day weekend. We arrived at 12pm and saw that there was a line waiting at the door (they open at 12). I'm glad that @Righteous Eats from TikTok gave this spot positive exposure.
We went with the omakase with four apps. Most noticeable ones were definitely the fugu skin, uni, and the rest of the nigiri. It is definitely a tier above other Japanese spots I go to and their ingredients are one of the freshest I've ever had.
Some info on the spot: the owner is closing the location because the landlord refused to reimburse the cost when the restaurant owner paid for the repairs after a robbery. I'm glad I was able to support this business before they close at the end of September.

Fish is fresh as usual. This place has been a Sunnyside staples for a long time and I wish they’re not closing soon! (rumor) Decor needs an upgrade but it’s very hole in the wall kind of traditional Japanese restaurants. Love it
