Big Walnut Grill

The worst food day after day year after year. I am done eating here. I have tried quite a few times but only 1 meal in 10 is “normal”. Food takes forever, routinely 35+ minutes. Food served cold most of the time. Not all food comes out at the same time. Wait staff friendly but untrained. Chris however is the BEST-waitress and would be at any restaurant. Also the food is not fresh some of the smoked meat is obviously not fresh. Bartender chewing gum then touching his face and mouth then pouring drinks ! Yuuuck ! Hands in the ice after touching his mouth ! The entire staff stands around waiting on the kitchen. We as patrons sit around waiting and waiting and waiting….. The owner John has given up. The food is gross and the safety of the food is questionable. I hate to leave this review. However when food safety becomes an issue I feel it is imperative to get the word out. The salad I had was full of old brown lettuce. My daughters lettuce was brown. Brown lettuce a person can easily see ! What does this say about food temperatures and refrigeration in the kitchen? I feel bad for the wait staff. They are trying to make a living ……..

I never knew this place was even here. A friend took bought us here. The place is nice and wide open! Plenty of seating everywhere, love the sports pictures and walls. Very cool! Enjoyed the juke box too. It was fun picking out songs with the kids. Our server was helpful, nice, and took care of us. The food however was basically a miss, a strike. The lobster bisque was warm but lacking flavor which is sad for me because I love lobster bisque. The queso was just not good at all. The burgers were okay. And the salmon looked like it was mauled by a bear ,the ribs did not looked smoke and had bbq sauce dolloped on top... come on now. The food unfortunately was not something to brag about. Maybe it was just wrong night, wrong cook.

Stopped in for dinner on Christmas Eve🎄☃️Had a 5 wing appetizer (very good) Steak and fries(steak cooked properly and tender and juicy) chopped salad that had tomato, cheese, cucumber and some potato stix topped with Italian dressing(cold, fresh, delish).I was greated at the door and seated immediately(25 min to close, only 2 other tables with customers). My server was very friendly and took my drink and appetizer order and returned to take my order. My food arrived in a timely manor and was very good. The place is set up for covid and I felt safe while dining. Please support our local businesses people, you won't be disappointed when you visit Big Walnut Grill. I will definitely be back.
