With having eaten Sushi for nearly 20 years, on both the East and West coast, I must say that this is by far the best that I have ever had. The seafood is very fresh and Sushi artfully prepared in an unexpected way. Even the house salad is delicious and unique.

If you want the American version of a Japanese Restaurant then go somewhere else, but if you want an authentic Japanese dining experience then this is your place. I was spoiled after living in Japan, the places in Chicagoland are too Americanized, not one for giving up easy I found Sakuma's. Finally, real Japanese food. It's little higher priced but fresh fish in the heartland is expensive. Most Sushi places I've been to have 2 day old or older fish. Sorry but I can taste that and I don't like it. I have been to Sakuma's countless times and I have never had anything less that very good service. You know it's good when the customer base is mostly Japanese. Enjoy

Awful customer service. Eat here at your own risk. Constantly out of stock of items or so they say. Our waitress was non existent. There were 2 grub hub drivers poor guys waited 45 minutes inside to pick up orders. The lady at the front kept telling them 2 more minutes and 45 minutes later still nothing.

The people promoting this place must be new to sushi or have very limited experience with other sushi places. Both times we went to Sakuma's, the service was horribly slow and the sushi was mediocre at best. I won't go back...ever and def do not recommend.

Best sushi i have found in the northwest suburbs so far. I used to live in lincoln park and this is the freshest/highest quality sushi i have found since moving to elgin and i have ate at over 10 places in the surrounding area

Price is a little higher than other sushi restaurants, but DAMN is it good! The chef also has sushi classes which are very fun!

Took us over 40 minutes to get our takeout when there were only about 3 people sitting in the entire restaurant, the service was extremely slow, and then was told it was because a bunch of orders came in AFTER me. Prioritize your customers.

My favorite Japanese place, Keisuke the chef makes excellent meals. Food is fresh, various options, quiet and quaint, great for dinner.
