Love Minami for sushi! It's right down the street from my house and their sushi is hands down the best in the Schaumburg area. I have a very discernible palate when it comes to sushi and am a tough critic to please. Taste -- 5 stars, the sushi rolls have enough flavor without overdoing it, just the right amounts of spicy and sour. I love the fish and chips, could sit there eating fish and chips all day. Freshness -- 5 stars, I can taste fish that's been sitting around for a bit and this place always serves the freshest fish. Creativity -- 5 stars, some of their newer rolls like the Juicy Kamikaze and the Tako Loco roll are my favorites. The chef definitely has a creative eye to come up with these interesting roll combinations. Service -- 5 stars, everytime I've gone to Minami or had food delivered, they've been super nice to me. The only minor thing I can critique on is that I wish they would come up with even more rolls!! Good job Minami, keep up the good work!! :)
I was skeptical on this place, but loved it, great service and friendly staff and most important the good was fresh and delicious.
Great experience for our first time trying out Minami Sushi. Ali was our waitress, she greeted us kindly at the front door and service was great. She was very informative, nice, and overall energetic! Lunch special is a great bang for your buck! My favorite part was, of course, the sushi, but the salad dressing is tasty! I highly recommend coming here. Very clean inside and prompt service
The best sushi in the area! The servers are friendly and the food never disappoints. I especially love the specialty rolls ( Fire Kamikaze, Hell Roll, and the Volcano) I highly recommend the Minami Crab Rangoon and the ramen. I've taken many friends here and they all became regulars!
This establishment does not disappoint. Be sure to ask for fresh wasabi - completely different then what you’re normally served and worth the up-charge. Check them out. Thank you!
Overall it was a great experience the food is great the service is also good. We came in at a very busy time so we had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes for a table,but if you come at a time that is not so busy they usually take care of you right away. the food is very good the sake that they have is fairly priced and they have a Wide variety, however the dessert menu is very short but still it’s a great place to stop by and have a bite of sushi
Hands down one of the best local chic sushi places in the northwest suburbs of Illinois. Great ambience and very friendly staff. This place is a gem if you are a vegetarian as their veggie sushi roll collection is like no other. They don’t make the usual plain cucumber rolls & avocado rolls for vegetarians but their version of those rolls combined garnished with sweet and hot mayo and/or cream cheese makes their sushis very filling, tasty and unique.
This probably was the best meal I've ever had in my 30 some years of existence. I highly suggest you get the ramen, pork or steak - astronomical!

I've been frequenting Minami since 2007 and I have to say; Minami is the most authentic and enjoyable sushi experience in this area. Tonight i was able to get a table and place my order and without exaggeration i had my entire order within 10 minutes. The service is great, fast, efficient and the restaurant is clean and has a wonderful atmosphere. The chefs have an amazing way with sushi. The Rolls are very unique and fairly priced, great portions, extremely fresh fish and absolutely delicious combinations. I always judge creativity in the rolls, and Minami has continued to impress year after year. 5/5 isnt a high enough praise. 10/10. I'd absolutely recommend anybody to give them a try. This is my go-to spots for dates, dinners and lunches. The Hell Roll/ Summer roll/ Screaming O and the Crab Salad are my go-tos and they never disappoint. Dishes are beautifully presented, and taste even better than they look.
