Colarusso's Bakery

I will definitely be going back to Colarusso''s Bakery. The Italian rum cake we had for my wife for her Xmas birthday was outstanding. As I was eating it two words came to mind old school. I've been to a number of bakeries in the Boston and surrounding areas only to be disappointed. I'm looking forward to try other pastries they have. Keep up the good work and see you soon!!

The desserts are good but customer service is terrible…. We moved to Stoneham recently and I ordered my husband’s bday cake with them a month ago, when I picked up the cake the girl who gave it to me greeted the women in front of me with a pleasant : happy birthday, but said nothing to me. My in-laws are visiting for the holidays and we went there to get dessert almost every other day. I tried to order a birthday cake for my father-in-law, the old woman on the phone was sooooo rude and inpatient with my questions, so I told her I would call back to order. I called back twice during business hours and no one ever answered again. That would be it for me, would never go back again. It’s a shame… but I ordered a nice cake with coppycake and didn’t have to deal with those bad attitude.

Disappointed.......I 've been going here for over 20 years at least 5 times a year for my birthday cakes and unfortunately will have to go elsewhere after today. I called the day before to order a cake but got a message they were on vacation which is understandable.......so I called back today to order a cake and was told you have to call 24 hours in advance. I said I tried to call the day before but you were closed on vacation. No offer of an already made cake until I asked about it. I said I want "Happy Birthday Christina" written on it professionally by the baker. She said we can't write on it until it is paid for. So I asked if I could pay over the phone and she said yes but there is a $dollar surcharge!!! I said fine and stressed I wanted neat and professional writing. I believe you can see in the picture that the writing is not neat and looks to have been done over because the white frosting was replaced and is now pinkish.

Although the food and baked items are delicious the customer service is terrible. The older brown haired woman should not be in customer service. I came in and asked for two cannoli and she responded by sighing and walking out back. I understand they are prepared to order but is a sigh necessary? When she returned 10 minutes later she was friendly greeting other customers she knew by their names but I was treated as an inconvenience.
